You will have a lot of problems fitting v5 heads in your car, Im not goin to start explaining what. The easyiest way is to fit your heads. Some sensors work diffrent some are stepper operated and some plugs will be diffrent and ecu wont cotrol it, and you just cant stick a v5 ecu (4 plug) into a v4 (3plug)..Unless you are very competent with the ins and outs of subaru, you are building yourself a headache..

My car is a v5 uk turbo 2000, so surely the v5 sti heads will be fine? It's only the short block from a v4 that I am using.

Would there be any benefits from using sti heads instead of uk heads?

Cheers

You state in your first post your car is a 97/98 which means it not a v5, its either a my97 uk turbo or my98 uk turbo the v is used for import sti cars. You said the short block was fro, a 96 car which is a v2/v3 or my96 uk turbo depending if its uk or import. I'm actually lost as to what your wanting to do..

What are the benefits of sti v5 heads over uk turbo 2000 ones?

V4 heads are apparently the best choice:thumb:

Hey. My bad! I always assumed the v meant version?!? My car is a version 5 99 model, I did edit the post some time ago but for some reason it didn't amend :-s

So I have a version 5 uk trubo 2000 which I intend to us the ecu (until engine ran in) wiring loom etc etc.
I want too use a set of version 5 STi heads as splitpin suggested. I just wondered if there are any wiring issues with using the older shortblock with version 5 heads.
Aswell as I would like too know the advantage (and disadvantages if any) from using STi heads instead of the standard uk heads.

Sorry for any confusion...

Tom

^^ I'm not the best technical person on here ;) but the V1-6 was only used for Jap STi's ... I don't believe it was used for UK classics.
