Best not leave the house Les, safest place to be ...
So now we can add body scanning cameras to the growing list of rules, regulations, Laws, CCTV, speed cameras, ANPR, low ozone cameras etc f'ing etc  TX.

What happens if a person with a turban "beeps" going through an existing scanner? Do they make him take it off? Same goes with say a muslim women who is completely covered up? If I'm wearing a coat I'm make to take it off. If I'm wearing timberland boots then I'm made to remove them So - shouldn't the boys with the turban and the covered up woman be made to put some stuff through the scanner? |

TX. These nutters can be on any plane any time, so its unfortunate that every plane has to undergo this, if it means me or any of my family dont die because of these religious fanatics then I'm all for it TBH.. |

My point is that the chance of it being you is so small to be almost zero. Flying is already far safer than driving yet you no doubt get in a car every day without worry. I don't worry about "nutters" as there's almost none of them out there vs millions of flights per day.
TX.

open the flood gates for intrusive controls is all im saying. steady on with the comments too gents, theres a lot of blatant racism in some of them coming through, maybe without intent but its still there. At that rate we 'll need the full body x-ray jobs then ! i think your being absurd regards the prudishness but anyway its a government that you voted for that partly facilitated this sort fanaticism btw |

TX. If one gets away with it, more will follow. If someone you knew was then on a plane that one of these bomber's got on, wouldn't you be asking the Government to do something about it? And why they didn't do something before? They are doing something ..... scanners. But like I said earlier, It shouldn't be for everyone. But also like I said, that would be discimination, and we can't upset terrorists. They might get angry and try to blow a plane up. |

I can see how it's a good idea. I'd rather be sat on a plane knowing the half dozen muslims seated near me had been through this scanner, rather than sat looking at them to see if they start fiddling inside their undercrackers, or trying to set the touchpaper on their shoes.
However, I do think it should just be Muslims that have to go through these things. Normal White English families going on Holiday are unlikely to be out to blow the plane up. I guess doing this would mean discrimination, and that would leave the door open for every Muslim scum to sue the Government. |

TX. So we are looking at hundreds of millions of people being inconvenienced and an absolute forture being spent for nothing. Oh, and don't forget, the pants-bomber was on watch-lists, banned from the UK, his Dad told the authorities that he was a wrong-un, he paid a grand and a half for his tickets in cash and boarded the flight without a passport!!!! If security fail to spot so many big red arrows pointing at this nutter, then trusting air safety to a guy watching a nudie-telly shows how incompetant those in charge have become :( mb |
Right, speculating further.
What happens if a religious ***** has explosives shoved in an orifice? Will these new machine spot something? And if they do, can he(or indeed she) be taken to a room for searching or is that against religion too? (edited by web team - please, no racist remarks.) |
Only if you search them with your left hand

Wouldn't it be much simpler (and cheaper) to just stop Muslims flying?

The background scatter machines do use xrays and the millimetre wave ones don't. |

TX. People on a Subaru website (whom I presume drive a Subaru) worried about the relatively insignificant chance of dying on an air flight. Shows a large degree of poor risk assessment in my opinion. Any Volvo chat sites out there:wonder: |
|
We should just have Muslim only flights subsudised by the tax payer but with no security at all just a pasport check.
|
A large percentage of the nutters are newly converted are they not ?

"behavioural profiling", which meant spotting passengers who had paid cash, were travelling with only a book for luggage on a long-haul flight or were behaving erratically at the airport. |

Seriously though the comment about "racism"? Now, I don't see many Sheiks trying to blow up planes (they are the ones who wear Turbans by the way......) . Simple statement of fact people; the current major Terrorist threat against Westerners comes from Muslim males aged between 18 and 35. The sooner we stop titting around worrying about "upsetting peoples feelings" and worry more about people getting blown up, the better. Your rights as an individual are nothing compared to wider societies right to live in safety. |
