Sorry! just amended to say this is on RACE fuel, although he didn't have the chicken tikka sandwich today, a weight saving measure I believe.

Thanks all, had a cracking day, and met some great people throughout the year which is what it is all about for me.
Hoping for good weather for the CHP Ashes event in 2 weeks, so may see some of you there.

Great time Martyn :thumb:

Good results too but it does make me wonder about the 'cost savings' over competitors turbos if you are having to throw race fuel in to get comparable results. Still 550+ is 550+.

banny sti 19 October 2009 07:44 AM

Duncan that was on a variation of the MD555 on his 2.35 engine, the 321T made just over 500 on race fuel on a 2 litre :)

10.88 - 1.759 60ft. - 132.33 mph.

Cool - low 10 in that then with a hooked up launch.

In the final analysis it's all about details of course, as has been pointed out re fuel. We aren't "having to throw" anything in, we just had the option the same as anybody else.
We made at least 520 bhp on V power and 10% meth last week. We've since run more boost as well, and we're going to go back now and see where we are with the raised boost levels on V power plus meth.
We are convinced we are on to something with the S206, and we won't be bothering to look at any previous design of turbo.
The point about cost is the fact that the whole package is not "expensive"
It uses the parts we need to get there and nothing that's a waste.
Yes, it's well put together, the credit for that goes to my staff.

I'd offer to drive it myself, but I'm carrying a weight penalty!

Sounds like a cracking turbo for the price, just for interest sake what's spool like on the road ? 1 bar by ? and full boost by ? (in top gear) also how's spool between gear changes ?

Well, the feedback we get is of a responsive turbo, in fact very much so in a 2.5, with no "laggy" complaints from a 2 litre either.
We are getting 1 bar at 3500 and full boost at 3900 from our 2.1 in direct top gear.
No lag between changes, evidenced by a 10.88 quarter!

Videos of the 3 10 second runs, excuse the poor quality, need to invest in a decent video camera.

Three runs in the 10`s is pretty consistent IMO, at least people cant say it was a one off thing :cool::cool:
