Perhaps one of the coppers said that to the Rangers fans and they got a tiny bit upset? Some people take a sport far, far, far too seriously, and I think this is an example of that. Yes, there will be a hardcore of people who claim to love the game/team, but for them it's just an excuse to go and cave in a few heads, for the rest though, I really don't "get" the whole hatred of another team and their fans. Perhaps it's because I'm not "into" football and never have been. I recall being at a friends place when his team (Spurs) were playing and losing and this chappy started crying, this was just a normal game, wasn't a cup final or anything like that. I was surprise and thought something else must be up, but no, it was just due to his team losing a game. I'm probably a heathen as I don't get why a loss would be such a bad thing. |

They were die hard hibs fans and after 30 seconds of friendly ribbing we continued with our pints and chatted about the shocking state of the SPL and the dominance of the old firm. No hatred, no hard feelings and certainly no racism, bigotry or religion of any kind - exactly the way it should be. I've got a lot of rangers fan friends and most of them are fine. However, even the nicer ones say things I simply can't believe when you get a few drinks in them and get them riled up about football. Religion has a lot to answer for, and why take what happened thousands of years ago and is probably all hear say to a football match. No excuse for that behaviour in Manchester!! :mad: |

Dirty *******s the lot of them, regardless of where they were from that behaviour should not be tolerated - the poor copper that got jumped on was just a normal bloke, may even have been one of my mates.

I believe its had a negative impact for the Man Utd fans that are staying in Manchester next week for their game against Chelsea.
There will be no fan zones set up now, so the behaviour last night has spoiled that for next week. |
