CallumW, you have my sympathies.
I've used fancyplates in the past to replace a knackered numberplate. I can't quite see how that would be legal in the new scheme of things. Unless I can get them to quote their postcode and the BSI or CE mark somewhere on the plate. Though it's interesting that you can have plates made to other EEU standards, so long as they're "substantially the same" and "carry the appropriate mark or number of the standard". J. |

Lots of bods out there will have private or replacement plates made for their cars. They could be subject to the same on the spot fine and lose their plate if repeated. As far as I know this is a new thing, so it may actually help some people in the future. |
