1. The MK2 Focus chassis is from MAZDA!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. Mazda have a fwd 260hp hothatch for £18k. It struggles to cope with the power let alone ford coming out with their own version with even more power.
3. Volvo hothatch is 4wd, also running mazda chassis. Ford can easily nick their haldex 4wd setup.
Focus chassis is good, we know this. it's haldex that's flawed. Fine if you're mid engined ;) but it's a safety aid really. I don't believe it'll function as a performance 4wd system in a front gearbox car.
