Classy understatement. I like it:thumb:

Never worked it out, for one simple reason. I don't care.

I didn't buy an Impreza for fuel economy, and if it's a concern to you, it's not type of car you need.

STI V2 400bhp round town 16 / 18 mpg on a run low 20s , smiling all th way:norty:

averaging 19/20mpg around town and mid 20's on a run.

simon.

Usually 230-240 a tank, but have managed 1/4 of a tank in 10 miles, when showing my bro the conversion, down a back lane.

Multijfj 03 January 2007 12:09 PM

Turns out, Iv done 90 miles to around 60% of a tank this time round

1168 03 January 2007 04:18 PM

i get between 160-180 per tank full in my 94 jdm,but its a smaller tank than your newies.never got more than 47 lts in it.:)

pippyrips 03 January 2007 04:48 PM

also worth adding it depends on how the car is mapped

Twix 03 January 2007 08:17 PM

It's threads like this that make me think I made the right choice going for a standard 54 WRX.

Never get less than 300 miles to a tank and often quite a bit more, mid 30's on a decent run.

But that's about my limit in terms of putting up with poor fuel economy - 200 miles to a tank just scares me despite the increased performance that an STi has over a WRX - but does it really have in excess of 50%+ extra performance to account for the fuel usage???

The STi PPP I drove was magnificent, but not to that extent.:freak3:

MrRA 03 January 2007 08:48 PM

When I had my CTR I could never get better than approx 220-230 miles per tank.

I don't even look at the odometer on the Scoob now.

Well mine does 24mpg and over 300 to a tank on runs and im running more than 50% of your power, so whats your point :wonder:

to be honest twix i didnt buy this sort of car to worry about fuel economy, but hey each to there own:thumb:

Twix 03 January 2007 09:54 PM

well scoobboy, since you asked, my point is that although the STi I drove was great fun and a great car, it genuinely **to me** wasn't THAT much more impressive that it justified the significant extra running costs.

to others it clearly is. so fair play.

1168 - my point exactly - i don't worry about the fuel with my WRX - just - but at STi levels it would start to be in the back of my mind. doesn't mean to say i don't admire the STi when i see one though - normally as they pass me in the fast lane!

rob84 04 January 2007 12:07 AM

pretty much the same opinion as other folk, didnt really buy my sti to worry about fuel use had it mapped now uses more fuel due to a heavy right foot but saying that if i do a long run can get about 150 miles to half a tank

donnas roo 04 January 2007 12:29 AM

212 miles running out and about on my 03 STi type UK, if i use a mixed tank of Vpower and standard shell unleaded {runs perfect unlike with just Vpower)

scooby_c 04 January 2007 07:48 AM

wow

i've go an 04 STi type UK

get about 300 to a tank (all motorway)

Thought that was really bad .. but seems like not compared to some !!!

You must have been VTECing everywhere. I got that economy sitting on the Autobahn at 130mph for the entire tank.

impreza_terzo3_no257 04 January 2007 08:40 AM

how does 175miles on a full tank sound  :nono:  thats in town, i did do crawley to Dover then to beligum in half a tank once hammering around 120-130
stupid EJ257 lumps and a heavy 20year olds foot
hey i love it though thats what maters :luxhello:
get youself a passat diesel or something that will give you over double the miles to a tank the scoob does if its prooving costly

What size tank is on a MY 03 WRX, I can only ever seem to get 48litres or so, guessing 50 litre?

I get between 160 and 200 miles.... OMG!!?
