Oh this is funny!
Writing "I hate gold wheels!" on a scoobie forum is like shouting "Michael Schumacher is a complete tosser!" in St.Peters square!
Even the Pope would have ya! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Mattski
Just checked out your wheel pics. I have a silver scoob myself and have been unsure about gold wheels with a silver car, but IMHO those look great on your car...where did you get them?
And take no notice of plewis he always talks b*llocks http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Steve_Yeowart 04 November 2000 09:12 PM

Sunilp you'll find that only Richards car ever uses Titanium coloured alloy (P1 marketing ploy maybe) and even then not all the time Juha always uses gold on his, and the 2001 spec WRC uses gold as well so how very next year seems that gold wheels are the new black if you get my drift!!!!

pslewis 04 November 2000 10:21 PM

So? do we all agree that gold wheels are yesterdays has beens??? thought so!!

Blo*dy GOLD wheels for gods sake??? it even SOUNDS naff when you say it!!!

The only good place for gold wheels is on a matchbox car

Anyone care to sort it out in a back alley with me? - if you actually LIKE gold wheels you have more female hormones than male so you shouldn't be too much bother!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

And I see that some of you are running imports??? ha ha ha well it goes to show your brain cell count is way down (didnt anyone tell you that you cant sell them - even if you put 'proper' silver wheels on!!??) tut tut ... sad people

This is fun!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif ;D

mattski 05 November 2000 02:23 AM

the wheels... I got them from Roger Clarke
Motorsport in Desford, Leicester :O)

glad someone thinks they look smart (most do
apart from the unbelievers !)

mattski 05 November 2000 02:29 AM

whats wrong with imports then?! who gives
a **** if you "can't sell them". I have
no intention whatsoever of selling mine.

I'm sure our STi owning pals are thinking
'oh ****, I won't be able to sell my
STi....quake in boots time NOT'.

And when it does come to the time where
I want something else I'll be trading mine
in against another Impreza - import or not.

sunilp 05 November 2000 11:14 AM

Kevin2000 05 November 2000 05:24 PM

Mr Lewis only posted this to stir up trouble.Simo should send this post to the domain of blowdog I think.

StanS 05 November 2000 08:45 PM

And I thought I was the only one who thought gold rims looked cheap !!!
I bought some ex P1 gold rims from Listers and when I put them on the blue 5 door I thought they'd grow on me - but they didn't - they just look cheap, so I sold them to someone who thought they were the DBs.
I got 17" Stilauto SR500, which I think look good.
But "taste" is a personal thing so who's to say ??
Stan

Jesus H Christ

Cheers all you lot, just finishing my lunch time soup and reading this thread. Its the only thread over 3 replies that I've ever read. I'm a silver wheel man myself (see my pics), gold wheels are not my bag baby but they look ok.....Saw a bloke the other day in a nissan bluebird with gold (painted) wheels. Nasty bit of 'I have no taste' business.

Anyway, later Darrrrrrrlinks

barge 07 November 2000 12:55 AM

Big spanner comming in the works.

When I got my Silver WRX it had gold wheels on it, the place selling it had a black WRX with silver wheels on it, IMHO they wheels were on the wrong car, I got the garage to swap the wheels, I now have a Silver WRX with silver wheels, in fact 2 sets of Silver wheels.

My 2 pence worth.

popeye 07 November 2000 01:18 PM

The only "big spanner" on this thread is pslewis.

H 07 November 2000 01:24 PM

PS lewis is right though...Gold wheels...Awful, very 90's! we are in Y2K so everyone with Gold alloys needs to ditch em and get some Silver or anthrasite

end of da story...

mattski 07 November 2000 01:38 PM

I must confess ... anthracite yes but silver
has been done to death guys! If gold have
been good enough for the rally cars and
the mighty burns and mccrae then they are
good enough for my lil wrx ;o) so there...
with hundreds and thousands on top

Philip Attaway 07 November 2000 02:24 PM

Gold wheels were only painted gold so puffa wearing muppets wouldn't nick them, 'cos even they have more taste!!

Regards

Phil http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

mattski 07 November 2000 02:27 PM

I dunno...

you bunch of gimps will laugh the other
side of your face when you get crushed
by a chieftan tank with GOLD wheels ;o)

harryh 07 November 2000 03:45 PM

Saw a metallic red Rover 200 in Edinburgh on Sunday with gold wheels, it must've had a "hurl factor" of 9.8 http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

popeye 07 November 2000 04:59 PM

Philip: So among your interests is "gym" eh? This thread would suggest that there appears to be a direct correlation between "working out" and posting unfunny rubbish about gold wheels. How strange is that? It baffles me.

Diablo 07 November 2000 05:23 PM

Whoops - missed this one http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Gold? - heh heh heh....

Nah.... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/tongue.gif

Only place for gold wheels is on a 22b.

pslewis 07 November 2000 06:21 PM
