Deduct £8500 just for the mileage :cuckoo:

Scooby-Doo 27 November 2006 05:53 PM

My 54 plate X5 was £50K new.

Mmmm new one coming, so everyone is getting out before the big hit. E46 M3 are the same, coming out of warranty, new one is on the horizon so to speak.

X5, lovely car.

My spelling and grammar is fine I think you'll find.:p

The car was 42k new and is now worth 25-30k. It has done 15000 miles. A roughly 15k price drop over 15000 miles works out at £1 per mile. Does that prove you wrong?

The dealers here still haven't explained why they pay below book, then try and sell above book.

You can't have it both ways:cuckoo:

That's quite simple to answer, although I'm not a stealer. They acquire cars for less and sell on for more, for a greater profit margin.

DJ Vinyl Ritchie......... dealers are on the immediate rung below dentists. Both are robbing f00kers. FACT :thumb:

Why is it all anti dealer ? When you go to a dealer it is your choice if you accept or reject their offer. If you are unhappy with their offer its simple...drive away. They have to make a living.

:

probably because they will have to service/MOT/recondition/warranty etc etc (or all of the above) the car for the new owner.... plus have you thought perhaps they would like to earn a living ?? HEAVEN FORBID

Have you not stopped to think about why some people pay MORE to buy a car from a dealer than from private??? same scenario ..

Glasses/Parkers come with a trade in price but the dealer laughs at this, saying if you can find a Mr Parker to buy your car at that price then sell it to them. Yet the majority of the time they want to sell it above Mr Parkers dealer price:confused:

Yes they have to make a living. Fine by me.

Service yes, reconditioning work is allowed for when giving you a price, warranty they have to buy if not already covered, but some dealers take the piss.
