good time if its a newage, though this time was done last year by rcm, due to r+d this time is old hat,af 9.3 is a very good time, rcm team ice has moved on a lot since last year, and the "gobstopper" is "mental" lets see what happens at totb5

ukdave 17 July 2006 07:41 PM

Its a classic mate,9.84 is still a good time whichever way you look at it-nobody claimed it were the fastest or why post andy`s time, still an achievement congrats paul.:luxhello: :luxhello:

Thanks very much for being so very underwhelmed.

No disrespect to RCMS and Team Ice, but they have yet to manage those sort of times without considerable assistance from nitrous. There is more to come I can assure you, 9.6x without nitrous should be acheivable, and my aim is to get under 9.5, which is fast enough for a circuit car. It is only the second time it's been on the drag strip since november last year, when it was taken off the road to be rebuilt as it is now.

Also worth pointing out that I did it on the same wheels, tyres and brakes that I used at Knockhill 2 weeks previous in the Time Attack. No 15" wheels with drag tyres over small brakes for me, the drag strip isn't that important for now. If I was so worried about outright drag performance I would build a drag car that was actually fast.

I would stick to racing armchairs if I were you.

Jay_bee 17 July 2006 10:34 PM

Speaking of Team Subaru, has the final line up been sorted out now?

wrc350 18 July 2006 06:56 AM

I would stick to racing armchairs if I were you.[/QUOTE]that accounts for about 99.9% on here then :) good luck to you and indeed all team subaru on sunday lets see some low times then

S.P.Developments 18 July 2006 07:15 AM

Good effort, keep it coming, [is this car road legal].

John

Jay_bee 18 July 2006 10:34 AM

Thanks Steven :thumb:

Take it your car isnt ready then?

By the way, I never got round to getting that 20g fitted :(

@ wrc350

I think you'd be suprised how many people on here actually do use their cars instead of armchairs

P20SPD 18 July 2006 10:38 AM

No probs :D

My car was ready, as reserve, until very recently when i broke a gearbox for the 3rd time. I have been concentrating on getting Mark's car ready for the team, as i can only drive one car ;)

I saw you sold the 20g on.

Paul, cracking the 9's has merely underlined the potential strength of the team. Well done Paul.

CyprusScooby 18 July 2006 10:42 AM

Well done mate!:notworthy
Come on team Subaru! :luxhello:

Jay_bee 18 July 2006 10:54 AM

Yeah, I was selling the car, hence why I sold all the parts... but changed my mind again :D

Anyway, Im aiming a little bigger this time, poss a TD06 with 49lb comp wheel, so I've lots of work ahead before I can get one bolted on, aiming to have it finished for early next year.

Yes I'd heard about your gearbox troubles, didnt you get a Modena box off Stuart?

(Sorry Paul for the slight hi-jack)

Team Subaru - looks v promising this year for showing up the Skyline/Lancer lot ;)

P20SPD 18 July 2006 11:15 AM

No, it was one i borrowed from Andy, which was originally from Stuart.

Jay_bee 18 July 2006 11:18 AM

Obviously not as bomb proof as people would have you believe then!

Anyway, I'll pop over and say hello next weekend.

P20SPD 18 July 2006 11:24 AM

Who knows!

Look forward to saying hello.

evonorth 18 July 2006 05:07 PM

Do you know the exact time of andy f's car was it 9.3 dead or 9.3 something, please
paul

Aztec Performance Ltd 18 July 2006 05:33 PM

An even greater achievement considering that was without nitrous or drag tyres

LUCKO 18 July 2006 05:36 PM

sub 10 second car, fair play :notworthy

what sort of money do you have to spend to get those sort of times (if you don't me asking) :)

evonorth 18 July 2006 09:34 PM
