as this is only my 2nd post im going to tread carefully, i have spoken to this guy, who appears to be a 1 man set up (not always bad)but his prices are sky high, and he tried to push for a package, when i was enquiring about exhaust prices.
seemed like hard sell to me.

GRD 28 June 2006 08:14 PM

Sorry

Biffa-Bacon sorry if I came across as hard selling as this was not my intension :(
As a tuning company we like our customers get the most out of what they are buying. The packages we provide are designed to fully utilise all the upgraded components.
This is why we recommend going for a package rather than just a single item.
We often find that when we have a customer in for a performance upgrade and they already have an exhaust or other items they have to be replaced.
For example to go for more than 350bhp on an STI we have to install a full 3" straight through exhaust. Quite often we find that the customer has already gone to the expense of getting a catback 2.5" system which is then too restrictive to produce the power.
If we had the opportunity to speak to them earlier and advise them we could have actually saved them money in the long run by recommending the best components for the final power figure they were aiming for. To do this we have to gauge how far they wish to go in the tuning process.

I'd also like to add that all our prices are on our website for everyone to see. I like to think that all our prices are very competative especially our packages which we get very good reliable power results from.

Best Regards

I've just ordered a stage 2 handling package and stage 1 performance package for my WRX from GRD which is being fitted in the next 2 weeks.

So far the service from James has been great, he has offered good advice and talked through loads of options to come up with a well rounded package to suit my needs.

Also organised to take me out in one of GRD's demo cars with a similar setup so I could see what performace I can expect.

Can't wait now to get it all fitted ! Will post again when done to let you all know how I get on............

Cheers
El

These guys are fantastic at what they do, I went with a good mate of mine to collect his sti after having the stage 1 setup fitted and mapped by James and in all honestly i have never come accross a service like it! The quality of the workmanship is second to none and everything is explained properly and reasons why. I know for a fact who ill turn to as soon as i pick mine up!

btw James if you remember me i was the one with the rx7 i have since seen the light "or as it may heard the sound!!" and im currently hunting for a scoob! Dont tell Brent ;)

Hey Elliot it was good to see you.

Glad you enjoyed the test drive. The roundabout and short blast afterward was especially fun! Going through the lanes also proved you can run a decent handling setup without too much compromise on the comfort side for everyday use.

Couple of weeks you'll be doing the same :)

Have fun with it.

Thanks we always try our best to meet our customers specific needs and requirements:)

Best of luck with finding a scoob Sam and hope it lasts you a little longer than the rx7 did;)

Got my car back from GRD last night after having the following fitted:

Stage 1 tuning package of full 3" de-cat exhaust, panel filter & Ecutek remap using octane booster.

Stage 2 handling package of front and rear anti roll bars, anti-lift kit, rear drop links, sports springs and laser geometry.

On the rolling road the car did 286.7HP and 287 lbft of torque so I am well pleased. Performance on the road is amazing with a massive improvement in handling and power.

I can't recommend GRD highly enough to anyone, the service and support has been great - thanks James :thumb:
