CW,

can you add neil@wrx to the attendee list at the top please. I am also chasing wrx for confirmation (he said he was coming a couple of weeks ago).

We are definitely quorate for an ace weekend!!

mb

wrx 31 August 2001 07:42 PM

I am definately coming. Do you need an answer for Gem or do you just need to Know the number of cars and tents?

If its just cars and tents then I'll be in one car with one tent. Gem changes her mind at the last minute. At the moment she isn't coming but I may bring a mate. Let me know how and when you want payment.

I've just this week had induction kit fitted(so it will probably bugger the MAF and shut down) car lowerd (so it will bottom out over every jump) and the bump steer removed (so I'll arse end into the first tree I see)Now you know why Gem dosn't want to come.

Mellow Yellow ! 31 August 2001 09:26 PM

wrx,
You'd better stay behind me again mate http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

boomer 31 August 2001 09:49 PM

CW,

we is up to 15 tents and 13 cars - get that role call updated!!!

Now where is Hippy (plus bruv) and Firefox etc????

mb

wrx 31 August 2001 10:31 PM

Mellow if I stay behind you I'll have to leave a large braking distance with those 6 pots on. By the way if you havn't had your bump steer done, then get it done. The speed you can come out of tight corners is silly, and go as fast as you dare into long sweeping bends (you just need the bol*x not to back off as I've already found the tail becomes very happy when you lift off at high speed).

CharlieWhiskey 01 September 2001 12:08 AM

wrx: please persuade Gem to come, there will be more 'girlies' there this time.

and what would we do without our official camera woman http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif

Eeh, & I bagged a corner as well http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Mellow Yellow ! 01 September 2001 06:59 AM

wrx,
I've had an anti-lift kit fited, similar I think to bumpsteer removal, on coming out of corners the car does not lift when flooring it, also I have had both front and rear anti-roll bars upgraded which has reduced roll considerably ! we'll see this weekend. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Good news http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Campsite is OK for us all to turn up & pay on the day, and we have our own hillside. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Other news: Pub stop on the Saturday are asking what people want to eat http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif

The normal menu is quite extensive & they do baesket meals as well. Here is an abridged version if you can give me some idea???

Chicken, (6 or 7 various dishes from Balti, Cajun, Chassuer etc.)
Fish, Scampi/Haddock/Tuna/Swordfish/prawns/cod
Vegi(6 choices)
Gammon/Beef/Ham/Ribs/Pork/Lamb/Venison
Pasta

etc. etc. (well I did say it was extensive)

Chris

boomer 02 September 2001 05:02 PM

CW,

That's great news http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

The hillside (and all to ourselves) will be absolutely brilliant, and the view in the morning as we wake to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore in the bay a few yards below will be fantastic.

Believe me, this is a fabulous campsite.

Only five an a half days to go, and the weather getting better n'all http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/cool.gif

YOUNG GED 03 September 2001 12:57 AM

CW

Do we have a meet point for us (SUNDAY DRIVERS!!!!!!)as Boomer calls us. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Cheers

Chris

P.S. I could always bring one of my mates and his caravan if you really want some sunday driver types. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

CharlieWhiskey 03 September 2001 01:15 PM

We are doing a final Day 2 recce tommorow & we will sort out a Sunday meet point somewhere around Aberystwyth.

Will you lot be OK to get down there for 10-10:30?

Chris

Tigger 03 September 2001 01:25 PM

Don't know if i am coming yet. Is it just camping facilities at the site or are there any kind of b&b rooms available? Wasn't impressed that the lilo went down on us last time! ha ha

Matt (WRX) insists that the bumpsteer is great, I'm not too sure!!! You can deffinatly go a lot faster but is this a good thing?

If I don't go can someone look after WRX for me! He will probably get lost! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Cheers
Gem

CharlieWhiskey 03 September 2001 03:31 PM

Hi Tigger http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

There are some 'fixed' caravans if that is any help, nearest B&B's would be in Aberystwyth (couple of miles away)

You could give them a call on CENSORED and ask them? (explain you are with the Motor Club camping lot on the top field)

Or you could always get a better matress http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif

Gem, you have mail http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Chris

Whoops, major crime-wave looming in West Wales http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif

Hi CW

I think it should take about 2 hours to get to you on sun am.
So it looks like an 8am start for us day trippers.

See ya

Chris

CharlieWhiskey 04 September 2001 10:36 PM

Topdog & YOUNG GED you have mail http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

CharlieWhiskey 05 September 2001 06:43 PM

The route is finished, but we just need to find some SUL & a pub that is open on Sunday when we are near.

Martin, how goes the search?... and the Wall? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Mellow Yellow ! 06 September 2001 07:52 PM

Anyone up for watersports if we get the time?

Amanda

neil@wrx 06 September 2001 09:19 PM

Wales
come on Saturday
c u all soon

Neil

CharlieWhiskey 06 September 2001 10:06 PM

Amanda: if it was any nearer the sea you would have to move the tents when the tide came in http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

It looks a bit cold though http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

ScooBabe 06 September 2001 10:30 PM

Its OK, I'll take my wet suit if you dont mind the smell of rubber. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Easy Tiger, we don't want to get the over 30 brigade too excited! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

I'll pack me trunks so I can show off me six pack (shame it's hidden by a 24 pack) http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Oh, anyone coming across on the A53 want to pootle over together? I got back from Shrewsbury in just under 40 minutes last weekend.

Martin, how goes the search?... and the Wall? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif[/quote]

Today i spent another 11 hours touring Wales' finest roads, and i am happy to confirm that there are TWO garages selling SUL within a few miles of the camp site, which should easily allow you to get from the start, to camp, and to the end on appropriate octane. There are several other garages en-route to keep you topped up n'all!

As for Sunday lunch, if real ale (or Vodka concoctions for 'Chelle), steaks, pies, curries, fish, chicken, burgers, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, pizza, and vegetarian food isn't enough to tempt you, then i am sure that we can find you a kebab van instead!!!

The weather forecast is looking good (although you may need a jumper if you want to take part in one of our 03:00am debates).

Just over a day to go now!!!!

mb

p.s. CW - the wall can wait!

boomer 06 September 2001 11:31 PM

Oh,

and just to confirm...

WE HAVE AN ENTIRE HILLSIDE TO OURSELVES FOR THE CAMP!!!

...with the sea gently lapping on the shores below.

Believe me, this is going to be one fabulous weekend http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

mb

boomer 07 September 2001 07:17 AM

Well the weather forecast for Wales is:

Saturday - Dry with sunny spells
Sunday - Sunny

Heheh!
