SUBTYPER 06 December 2005 06:23 PM

Whats a twisted Turbo setup.

AlanG 06 December 2005 07:02 PM

It allows the turbo to be turned through 40-45 degrees.

It's what RCM's kit has been called by Japanese Performance magazine.

Best to create a new thread on the topic of turbos and keep this thread as it was intended.

SUBTYPER 06 December 2005 07:06 PM

SO is there any benefit in turning the turbo through 45 degrees would it be benefitial on a 93 car thats used for rallying and has a 34mm restrictor sorry for hijacking the thread. The rally car needs to generate torque as much as bhp really

drb5 06 December 2005 07:22 PM

I'm sure Alan will elaborate;), but yes you can gaina small bit. Although it is really only a gain when your running upwards of about 450BHP. Help's with airflow really.

paulsc 07 December 2005 09:24 AM

the downpipe is twisted at the top to allow a bigger turbo to
be installed c/w with new up pipe and headers

stevebt 09 December 2005 04:35 PM

well i will have to take my name off before this even starts properly as the sva test centre has told me 10 days are needed to get my car done :( which means it wont be sorted in time for this

s80wkr 09 December 2005 04:49 PM

Put my name down please

harvey 12 December 2005 12:41 AM

Right guys. We have a lot of interest here and I am wishing we had gone for an earlier date but other things come in the way like Christmas, Hogmanay and the Tuning/Motorsport Show or whatever it is called now.
I'll post further at the end of this week and then make a proper list.
Cheers.

PhilA 13 December 2005 09:04 PM

do these provide a printout at the wheels/fly wheel or both/none?

harvey 14 December 2005 08:53 PM

Print out of torque and bhp at the flywheel as far as I know but if you specifically asked for an at wheel figure before the run I think that would be possible but you could check direct with TEG.
It is also possible to get Lambda or boost readings.

PhilA 14 December 2005 10:46 PM

Sounds good then I can compare with my previous readings from well lane.

Just being cheeky here but, is there any chance of 2 runs one on gas one on petrol

MY93WRX 26 December 2005 04:15 PM

:D Any places left, love to find out how much Bhp is actually being kicked by my standard unmodified MY93 Wrx flat 4 boxer engine (unless it was played with in Japan before i got it and an aftermarket not to lound but not to quiet silencer from JP Exhausts in Macclesfield). It stays on the bumper of STi's so it must be a fairley healthy number of gee gee's, or just a good driver :lol1:

harvey 27 December 2005 12:09 AM

To Steve Bowker :
How long does it take to switch over from gas to petrol or vice versa. It would certainly be interesting to get comparable results so I will see what we can do.

harvey 27 December 2005 12:19 AM

Here is the list for TEG Sport starting at 08:30 Saturday 28th January.
We currently have 26 possibles and will struggle with much more than 20 runners.
It is now time to confirm runners and this will be done on receipt of a £10 deposit to secure your place with the £20 balance payable on the day. On receipt of the £10 I will update the list. Until you are confirmed please do not take it you are running.
Please send £10 recorded delivery or better still a cheque, to me :
Harvey Smith MBE,
Earlsville,
Carmel Road North,
Darlington,
County Durham,
DL3 9TF.
If you can include your name, Scoobynet name, e-mail and mods on an A4 sheet along with your payment it will assist me with providing information on the day.

Regards,

Harvey.
