New USDM MY06 will be 2.5 for both WRX and STI, however all previous years had a 2.0 WRX (227hp) and a 2.5 STi (300hp)

I'm still tempted to PPP the car although it's slightly over my budget. But damn, here it is too expensive for what it is.

Mutts Nutts, out of topic but I've just noticed, do you know you are living very close to Hayward & Scott the respected exhaust manufacturer?

Just googled for their website and yes they are about 5 minutes away from me :)

When my warranty is up may look there :) .. do you think it would cause a problem with dealers if i ditched my warrantly friendly WR Sport back box and whent for one of these ?

Perhaps that guy from prodrive would like to answer that one for us?

It is because you mugs in the UK are prepared to pay 1600 quid for a PPP where as the yanks aren't! Simpel really.

PPP in Der Farterland is not possible, we are not allowed them here and we can not get them here. The rules here suck big time especially when you see all the treved up GTIs that frequent the shows in the UK from Germany.

I have a piece of paper that has the noise limit of my car recorded in it stationary at x rpm and moving at x rpm and these numbers are set in stone and can not be changed. I also have the PS and top speed of my car in there aswell.

The PPP alters the noise and power of the car so is not legal here.

We do have 2 cars here with PPP but both are Brit RHD cars.

The PPP is also not TÜV approved in Germany so is illegal to fit to a German registered car.

k2iss 08 September 2005 03:09 PM

Still you can go berserk on some part of your motorways :D

Mutts Nutts 08 September 2005 03:09 PM

Ahhh ... the good old Fahrzeugbrief if i rememeber, that makes tuning a :nono: .

They even got your tyres sizes and everthing listed and stuff I recall.

thats a real shame... Hated TUV

Yep you can go bezirk on the Autobahns and I frequently do :D

Tis a bit hairy going past cars doing the speed limit when you pass them at 260kmh it seems like they are standing still, the real hairy part is when they decide to pull out in front of you because they have not seen you coming.

And you were right about the Fahrzeugbrief, this is the V5 the Fahrzeugschein is the smaller one you need to carry with you.

But unlike the V5 if someone gets hold of your Fahrzeugbrief they technically own your car and can go and get it reregistered in their name without you even knowing about it. then they report the car stolen and you get nicked in your own car and with now Fahrzeugbrief to prove it is yours you are in the brown stuff, you may have the Fahrzeugschein but that doesn't matter it could be an old one.

Ain't life great in sausageland :D

Is there any way we can find out if this PPP offer could still work then? :norty:

Who knows the differences between a 2001<2005 UK WRX and a US one, except from the obvious LHD/RHD???

Are the back box and middle section compatible?
Are the ECU compatible?

Mutts Nutts 08 September 2005 05:50 PM

I dont beleive the ecu would be compatible -

rallysportdirect@hotmail.com says:

they are for only usdm cars

rallysportdirect@hotmail.com says:

there is quite a few differences in the ECU programming between the two motors

Dont see why exhausts would be different. But then as somebody said, by the time you added shipping, paid import taxes and waited 3 months for surface delivery then pay someone to fit it.. and after all that the dealers still wont regonise it as a genuine certificated PPP.

we may just have to put up for a uk dealer ppp or shut up

or say bugger the warranty and get a TSL bag of goodies under the bonnet :norty:
