Definitely up for this meet, let us know confirmed details nearer the time.

Hogster - get yourself there, and make sure the new tyres are fitted by then, as you will need them to keep up !!!!!

If we all turn up it should be a gud un.

Meeting place is the Clifton Moor out-of-town shopping centre on the Northern ring road of York.
If we meet outside Tescos then no-one should get lost.

Date: Sunday 28th January 2001.
Time for meet - 11:00am, in the car park outside Tesco (next to Mcdonalds)

Set off about 11:30-11:45 on thrash.
Route will take us on a circular path taking in Helmsley, Malton, Fridaythorpe and Stamford Bridge, which are all top roads.
Some alternative routes available should bad weather etc make the smaller roads a bit tricky.

Distance is about 75 miles round trip.

Will stop off for a pub lunch on the route if enough peeps show interest.

Directions for the Clifton Moor park are:
It is located just off the A1237 northern ring road - between the A19 and the B1363 roundabouts. Nearest suburb of York is Rawcliffe.
You cant miss it - there is a huge Toys R us and Tescos etc, bowling alley etc.
If anyone still isnt sure then e-mail me and I will sort out a link to a map.
Will have a map and "pace notes" of the route for all peeps on the day.

Cheers

Chris C.

p.s. Otis/Alan - will be over in York on Saturday 13th getting the car serviced at Pulleyns (6 monthly so will take about an hour), if you fancy meeting to discuss any part of the route then please e-mail me.

BOB.T 07 January 2001 05:48 PM

Hi everybody
Does anyone mind if I tip up at the Clifton moor meet? I've got a slightly modified Fiesta SI. I did keep up with Dave Hodkin in his Impreza on the way to Le Mans and back! ( feel free to back me up here Dave!). I am also looking to buy an Impreza later in the year, funds and insurance permitting!
Hope to hear from you, BOB

Mellow Yellow ! 07 January 2001 11:19 PM

Chris,
I'll be bringing a 320bhp creme yellow T5R estate for you boys to play with........( I'm leaving the STi6 at home )

Mossman 08 January 2001 08:20 AM

Hello !

Sounds spot on to me and will be there! I will try my best to round up HUll's usual suspects which does include Phil M !

All the best,

Jon

SCOTTY 08 January 2001 07:01 PM

Scotty http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Charlie H 08 January 2001 08:46 PM

Sorted, I'll be in a black MY93 WRX (and I'd better get the 45,000 service done before then)

Chris Clayton 08 January 2001 09:13 PM

Everyone welcome, just turn up - we can group people together in smaller groups to
make it easier to negotiate the route - I have pre-arranged meeting up points to get us all back together should the faster lads want to push on a bit.
Will try bring along my cam-corder and see if we can sort a nice bit of road to vid everyone coming down it (I can then sell copies for a fortune - or to "You've been framed" if anyone sticks it in the hedge!!!)

On advice from Otis we will meet just a little bit further down the car park outside Focus-Do-It-All as apparently there is a manic security guard patrolling outside Tesco - I'll be there with 3 lads from about 10:30 ish so should be no probs spotting us.

Chris C.

Does anyone who's not going know how to make Yorkshire Puddings so I can have the day off?

G 08 January 2001 11:09 PM

Chris C et al.
Have a great day out in York and the surroundings. Used to live in Scarborough, and work with Chris, but have now been relegated to the GATSO strewn A38 area around Tewkesbury/Cheltenham - with a Passat!! Might get a decent car one day?

GaryC 09 January 2001 01:57 PM

Sorry guys, the 28th is a) the day after Oulton Park and b) day after my birthday http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif The chance of me getting a 2nd pass and being in a fit state to drive is extremely low!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Have fun http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Chris Clayton 10 January 2001 10:07 PM

Ok,

Some more directions to Clifton Moor and Focus-Do-It-All:

If coming West along A1237 York Ring Road (from Scarborough/Bridlington/Hull) then you want the 5th roundabout (not including the one at the start of the ring road).
As you approach the roundabout you will see the Bowling Alley, Focus & Tescos etc on your left.
Turn left at the roundabout and stay in the left hand lane. You will see Tescos petrol on your left, filter left at the next small roundabout and double back past the petrol. Meet is in the car park on your right at Focus-Do-It-All as you follow the entrance lane round into the car park.

If coming from the A1/A64 - take the A1237 Northern Ring road junction off the A64. Follow for about 6 miles (you want the 5th roundabout).
When approaching it you will see the big "Toys R Us" etc signs on your right.
Turn right and then get in the left hand lane and then as above.

For maps see the links below (if they work).

Oh yes - it is Burger King that is next to the car park - not McDonalds (as I said in previous post). Don't go to McDonalds as that is not in the correct car park.

Cheers

Chris C.

mjr,

I reckon its about 1.5 hours back to Manchester from Clifton Moor - maybe a bit more. No chance of making the drive out mate,
it's a long way to come for half an hour!!!.

Simon, No worries mate, see you next time,

Chris C.

Hogster 20 January 2001 12:08 PM

mjr,

whats the point in rushing back for a Man U game - you know what the result is going to be before you go.

Do something different!!

Mossman

Chris Clayton 26 January 2001 07:33 AM

Mossman,

Can't believe that you're taking up the chance of a free holiday somewhere instead of coming to the meet.........what can i say.
Never mind mate - will catch you another time. Will sort through a list of who has expressed an interest and post another list.

If anyone gets lost etc on the way or has any probs give me a ring on my mobile
