Just looking back, they are stunning times, but largely due to the 60ft time , very consistant. Back when mine was running low 12's, my 60ft's wer 1.9+

Steven:

Thanks mate.

Am using a 4.2kg flywheel so it can be fussy to launch. Yesterday I just couldn't get the wheels to spin enough and it just kept bogging. Sunday it could have launched like that all day long. 1.6s 60ft should be possible.

What were the quickest times on yours btw?

Still room for improvement so watch this space :)

Excellent time. Something to aim for on my next visit to the pod in a couple of weeks.

Where did you run that time btw?

Have you completed your TOTB squad yet?

Bob

Just a quick update of yesterdays RWYB @ Santa Pod.

Managed a 12.09secs@114mph :)

Will post full details tomorrow.

Aztec Performance Ltd 13 June 2005 04:42 PM

Finally get around to doing the tedious task of posting full details:

Quite a warm day at the Pod. Got there at around midday and met up with Tas.

Run 1: (good clean run)

Reaction: 2.175
60ft: 1.729
330ft: 5.018

660ft: 7.748
990ft: 10.045

330ft: 5.392
660ftMPH: 88.27
660ft: 8.129

1/4MPH 114.56

Run 3: (heads-up against this http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y4/...B/STA50001.jpg)

660ft: 8.334
990ft: 10.676
1/4 ET: 12.755
1/4MPH 112.18

Was aiming for 12.1secs@115mph so I am very pleased with the results :D. Changing shift points, as AndyF suggested has helped alot, particularly noticeable on the terminals :thumb:

My personal bests have now gone (in day order) 12.49@110mph (santa pod), 12.21@111mph (Avon Raceway) to 12.09@114mph (Santa Pod).

60ft wasnt 'perfect' so I still feel there is a little more room for improvement. :norty:

Quickest car on UK internals?

Very happy with the car. No tweaks ever needed since it was mapped and no raceday tweaks to boost or ignition.

lil_kimmy 13 June 2005 05:09 PM

hi bob im tas' missus.

were the videos any good or did i do crap???

Aztec Performance Ltd 13 June 2005 05:46 PM

Hi Kim.

Vids were crap.

Only kidding ;)

A couple were okay but its the camera that was crap and not the operator :)

Will take it back to the shop and get a proper camcorder methinks.

Bob

lil_kimmy 13 June 2005 05:51 PM

lol cheeky!

u should have just bought the camcorder in the 1st place.

are u coming jap show at the pod this weekend?

i think tas wants to take it to try and get his time down!

Aztec Performance Ltd 14 June 2005 01:34 AM

I know, I know. Just trying to be a tight git I suppose ;)

Wont be able to come to JapShow unfortunately as I have a wedding to attend.

Tas got v respectable times and I'm sure he'll improve on them. He just needs to resist heads-up temptation.

You going to have a go down the strip this time? :norty:

lil_kimmy 14 June 2005 11:47 AM

i will give it a go i think. have only done it once before so im a bit scared!!!

i have gotta get used to the paddle clutch 1st else i will probably just stall it :(

Aztec Performance Ltd 14 June 2005 12:27 PM

I'm sure you'll be fine. Be funny if you get a faster time out of it than Tas ;)

lil_kimmy 14 June 2005 12:32 PM

lol! i think he would wanna sell the car if that happened!!

im not a bad little driver though ;)

Pavlo 14 June 2005 01:12 PM

looks like the track did it's usual trick of getting less and less grippy as the day wore on, all very familiar at the Pod on rwyb days I'm afraid.

Cool start to the day seemed to help too, as your power dropped off during the day.

Aztec Performance Ltd 14 June 2005 01:28 PM

1st run was after midday.

60ft: 1.729
330ft: 5.018
660ftMPH: 89.28
660ft: 7.748
990ft: 10.045
1/4 ET: 12.097
1/4MPH 114.24

Best at Avon Raceway:

60ft: 1.701
330ft: 5.043
660ftMPH: 91.07
660ft: 7.783
990ft: 10.123
1/4 ET: 12.210
1/4MPH 111.77

All on the same spec. Avon Raceway wasnt cool either though.

Was shifting earlier at Pod whereas I was shifting later at Avon. Quicker/earlier gearchange into 2nd gear too at the run at Pod.

The surface at Pod wasnt as consistant as Avon Raceway.

Still think there's a little to be had off the time.

Bob

Pavlo 14 June 2005 01:36 PM

heat build up in the engine while queueing doesn't help.

Aztec Performance Ltd 14 June 2005 01:37 PM

Paul: How much do you reckon I can shave off the time?

Neilo 14 June 2005 03:55 PM

Bob just looked at your 660ft MPH....that looks a little weird to me, what about you?

you were 2mph slower, yet crossed the line 3mph faster....?

Gearchange from 3rd to 4th. Earlier gearchange made higher terminal

Neilo 14 June 2005 04:04 PM

i think im going to try that, shift no later than 6k.

flat4 14 June 2005 04:32 PM

nice one Bob :thumb:

No idea Bob, you probably know your car better than I do, and what it can do. It's be a while since someone has bothered to try getting below 12s with a turbo of that size, and this just goes to show it can make a quick car. The terminals show it's got some real power.

Paul

Aztec Performance Ltd 14 June 2005 05:52 PM

Neil: I was shifting around 6500rpm. Your shift point will depend on your turbo and where you are making power.

Kev: Cheers mate. Come down to North Weald for sprinting next month?

Paul: Wel I cant increase the power or anything, its on one map which is my everyday road map. Can save some weight on a alu bonnet and lightweight battery I guess. Not sure if it will be significant enough though. I know I can launch a 60ft 0.028sec quicker as it is.

Bob

Neilo 14 June 2005 06:17 PM

weight reduction will do it easy.....

yeah me saying ill shift at 6k is on the 3rd to 4th in my car because i dont think theres benefit after that. My rev limit is set at 6750 anyway.

Aztec Performance Ltd 15 June 2005 11:50 AM

I dont know about easy mate. Can't be arsed to do anything more than the battery and bonnet.

Cant believe I'm chasing 11s now  Was happy when I finished the upgrades, to run anything in high 12s, knowing that 12.5secs 'might' have been possible.

Does it ever end?

P20SPD 15 June 2005 11:54 AM

No, it doesnt.

Tyre pressures?
