When its running, it runs very well. Having problems with the intercooler pipes blowing off on boost. Not a major problem.

Boost comes on hard and strong in the midrange. Feels very quick. Will take some getting used to around corners etc. RR on Sunday so will have some figures for bhp/torque.

Hows yours coming on? Was lucky that Andy was in my area and had a session available so moved things on quickly.

I would ask Andy what he thinks re exhaust.

What bore is your centre and backbox?

I have a spare 3" open-neck ScoobySport downpipe if you need one.

My mechanic is fitting all the necessary bits this week...

One thing i was going to ask was is it ok to fit the bigger injectors and drive the car a couple of miles to my home without it being mapped.....

also what sort of pressure should be set on the sx fuel pressure regulator???

cheers

Dark Blue Mark 25 April 2005 02:38 PM

Why you changing the reg? Injectors will be ok IMO - just take it steady.

Because it needs doing, unless its now proven that a std classic reg is okay for 350-400bhp?

When is the mapping Tas?

Final Spec?

Ah, not looked at the 1st page for a while - thought this was a standard turbo / tek3 upgrade, but its a bit more.

If the SX is being fitted with the injectors then set it at 2 bar with the vac line disconnected at idle, then the ECU's closed loop fueling will easily handle the change in injector size. Keep it off boost until the remap though :)

I put some sticky foam around the edges of the IC and removed the undertray. Floyd has done a decent undertray for his, so it may be worth looking at his thread.

No idea about the strut brace....doesnt do much anyway AFAIK.

i know this sounds silly but does the foam start to melt or anything??????

Bob

really need to get something sorted as its being mapped on 12th....

does it make much difference without and alterions or would it kinda make any intercooler upgraded worthless???

Aztec Performance Ltd 05 May 2005 11:00 AM

Just remove the undertray and put foam on. That was how mine was mapped and should stop the air escaping down the back of the ic.

I will make a undertray for mine when I get the time but the foam does the job for now....just needs re-applying now and then.

Bob

Tasberley 05 May 2005 12:16 PM

how did u join the foam to the intercooler???

Aztec Performance Ltd 05 May 2005 02:32 PM

Brought it from RS Components. Comes sticky already and the right width. Just need to layer it up until it touches the bonnet.

Bob
