Default Power to be expected???

Hiya all... Pretty similar post to BOB'5 but what the heck.

Hiya ppl.....
Specplanned for my sti type r ver 5:
Magnex downpipe (being changed to a H&S open neck downpipe)
Equal length headers and uppipe
Blitz nur spec r
Blitz air filter with custom heat shield
550's
Wlabro 255 pump
SX reg (to be ordered)
TD05/06-20G Turbo (andyf --- i be giving u a fone call shortly to order one of these)
Sti 8 i/c (Helix uprated top mount to be fitted instead)
Blitz spec s boost controller
Tek remap (andy f - be speaking to ya very shortly... and andyf u've been very helpful so thanx!!!!!!)

Does any1 advise us to get anything else at this kind of stage and what sort of power would be possible...

Also ive got a Blitz boost controller currently ---- is it worth keeping??? is it possible to have 2 boost settings once it has been tek 3 mapped????

Tas

Very similar to 911s spec (see projects). He made 407bhp. You'll most likely get 370+ particularly if you use OB. Much depends on the mapping I would guess. Every car is different.

It'll no doubt be much quicker than mine.

Not sure if the boost controller can be used with tek3. Have asked the question on my thread in projects. Can a STi be Tek'd anyway? I'm not sure.

I brought my SX FPR from Alyn @ as performace. Great service. Kit is £190 inc

Might be worth getting a front mount if your going to go ahead with the spec it will keep the temps down.

370 will probably be optimistic on the std turbo(from what others have said) and you may also find your tmic is not up the job
Knocklink is ESSENTIAL

Just listen to what Andy advises; he'll keep you right. Oh and ignore Deep as he obviously couldn't even be bothered reading your post before providing "advice"

Yes you need a Knocklink. Keep an eye on the 'For Sale' forums as they do come up there now and then. Otherwise you could try BRD.

as for the choice of i/c its all swings and roundabouts. If you're planning on doing much track work a fmic may be better suited to your needs. Personally am sticking with a STi8 on mine.

The Magnex is a twin dump 2.5" IIRC? You would be much better off with a 3" open neck with your setup IMHO.

And yes, as set of the critical gauges would have been first on my list.

Id also be looking at a lateral performance clutch, or similar and an RCM modified oil pump. Sure I saw one for sale recently??? The standard STi clutch wont cope with that power, and the oil pump is really just a safety thing...

2.5" DP will only see you to mid 300's at a push from memory, and twin dump further restricts things IMHO.

HKS mate, but you would be best having the matching centre section to go with it as well, I think their Dpipe is fractionally shorter and hence their centre section fractionally longer, although I only have the Dpipe!!! Fits with a stretch and decent gasket.

You wont go wrong with that. They do various sizes / designs.

Not sure if there are any actuator / boost creep issues with these big TD05's - but one of the experts can help there.

I may be wrong, wasnt aware of that - but going 3" puts it beyond reasonable doubt.
