Iwan, all the stickers on the boot lid are correct for this model (except the yellow prodrive ones on the bumper).

There's a Wrx STi one, a world rally championship winning one, a type Ra one, and there's a V-Limited numbered plaque (below the WRC one), it's the only place that shows which number (of 555 made) that you have, unless the previous owner moved it.

I'm still not sure they made this model without DCCD, the carbon over the dials is non-standard, it could be to cover up a transmission change.

This could affect the value, but it only matters if you were looking to buy a STi type Ra because of the features it has over the other models. I.e. DCCD, close ratio gearing, 35:65 torque split etc...

You might be right Normski, i've had a look at a scanned copy of the original STI2 Type RA sales brochure and the dash is plain black with DCCD display between the clocks. Also there's a picture of the handbrake and you can see the DCCD switch.

My cousin has a WRX Type RA which definately doesn't have DCCD, but does have the DCCD display segments in the dash. There's nothing behind them though so he fitted the knocklink display there instead.

Hmmm :Suspiciou

no dccd on my wrx type ra, but has full electric pack, abs, climate control, blue swrt seats, blue console, blue dash, sti pink struts, short ratios, all the lightweight bits and 270+bhp/ton :D

Look Iwan, I don't want to worry you any further, but that's a Vauxhall Corsa!

Seroiusly, you got a good car there, looks pukker, don't worry about the DCCD, maybe the little Jap guy that ordered it new, decided not to have it.

Iwan,

Yes I can see where you are coming form and that I find strange also, yes this is the transmisson code on my one. Can anyone else that has a v2 sti ra confirm what transmisson code is on thier ones.

Scooby125 16 March 2005 10:57 AM

Sorry to jump accross, I have a Version 2 Sti Ra (1995) and just wondering can someone confirm they match fellow sti 2 ra owners,
Model GC8C4DD
Engine EJ20GDW5PJ
Trans TY752VB4CA

Cheers.

:o

I've decided not to go ahead and buy this car. It's a great bit of kit, and I'm satified that it's all as it should be. But I had my heart set on DCCD as I'm a bit of an enthusiast, and am going to hang on and look for one with DCCD.

Though I'll probably end up with a right dog now and totally regret passing this one up!

I've deleted all the pics except the VIN plate one as thats still relevant to the discussion of model codes and specs.

Try to find a model with the following chassis no.

GC8GK8D

Mines fooking awesome :D

Climate, 4 doors, switchable ECU,
and no DCCD

comes up as a US spec 3.0 V6 impreza wagon from deciphering the VIN no. ;)

Darbo_wrx 16 March 2005 12:45 PM

it should have dccd as standard
its probly been removed at some time in its life
more of a gimmick anyway your not missing much
ill be taking the dccd diffout of my rallycar anyway as they cant take hard abuse and give consisted results
newer cars may be improved im talking classics here :D

Darbo_wrx 16 March 2005 12:53 PM

just had a look at the picks

should have the mid rear wing though
it looks more like a V ltd that some one has added the sti bits to
got a big water spray bottle//sti intercooler/strutbrace all sti-ra parts
just the small rear wing and normally would expect the wr champ celebration badge on the boot of this colour car

looks tidy enough though
