Yep your right.

Same outside nursery, playgroups and schools. Kids need to learn good traffic skills to stay alive. No use keeping them hidden from such situations as long as they are under full control of an adult IMO.
And no I'm not talking about deliberatly exposing children to danger, the danger comes when they are left in situations where they dont understand the dangers and there is no adult control.

Eh !!??

Are you taking the piss or do you not see the circular arguement:

People with kids park in normal spaces and bang and scratch your car
So you park in the parent and kid spaces
So there are less spaces for folks with kids
Who then have to park in the normal spaces
So you park in the parent and kid spaces

Given the lack of consideration from those without kids, I'm not surprised by the fact that you find your car getting bashed and dented more often

I suspect that you probably do park in parent and kid spaces because your a selfish git but also that there is a bit of a troll going on here :D

I think i've taken enough bait - I'll back off

Circular argument? Err, no. These parking spaces are wider than normal spaces and there are about eight of them in Safeways which is nowhere near enough for the amount of people who insist on inflicting their kids on everyone else at the supermarket so regardless of where I park I stand a fair chance of getting my car scraped (again) by some child or parent getting out of their car.

Instead of parking my car across two spaces as many on here do, I simply put it in the parent parking area to lessen the chances of some muppet scraping it again. Of course, this isn't going to be popular with the Parent Police whose little darlings are the centre of their world and can do no wrong but I'm not going to join the PC brigade just for the sake of it.

I've had my car scraped twice now in supermarket car parks, once by a woman who rammed her pram into it and couldn't grasp the fact that I objected to "such a diddly little scratch" and another time by little Timmy flinging the car door open onto my wing. In both cases, the parents seemed to think that because they put up with their little brats everyone else should be equally tolerant and in the second case it took two months and a solicitor to sort it out.

Since I adopted my new policy of parking in the wider bays my car hasn't been scratched and whilst I totally agree I'm being inconsiderate, I don't see why I should be mindful of a group of people who don't care one iota what affect their actions have on others.

Selfish - yes. Inconsiderate - yes. Any different from the majority of the rest of the population - no.
