straight to the floor DW .....took me and a mate an afternoon to fit. I have drilled and bolted rather than welded, but going to weld it also for extra strength. Didnt need to take the roof lining out either which is a good thing for keeping it barely livable sound wise on a long drive ...sunroof still works as well :D
|
Cool, going to order a rear SD cage shortly, as cant be arsed fitting a full one - can get the rear for about £200 incl vat and deliv.
|
Fitting a full one isnt that much harder mate. If I can do it anyone can. The rear bit is the hardest coz you have to hole cut over size holes in the floor to take the captive nuts ..... It takes two of you to build it outside first and then get it into the car. Bit of brute force and ignorance required. Once its in it aint coming thats for sure
|
Like the idea of the scoobynet 205 group, feels like I'd still be part of Sccobynet even tho I've sold the impreza......
DW - why buy a rear SD cage, as Gutmann pug says, you may as well fit the whole cage for the arse-ache involved in fitting the rear one. And the best 205 colour is........WHITE! |
You dont have to cut anything out to fit the front cage and door bars. The only things are that the glove box only partially opens and the sun visors no longer work. Other than that no change.
On the positive side it really stiffens the car up and makes it handle better. |

I wouldn't personally buy it either mate. But my mummy always told me that stuff is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. And it looks like that one could go over £2k. |
Dont think I would fit in it though with the full cage, my knees are up near the side window as it is :D
Also want to keep it fairly std so I can return it to mint condition if required. Its actually too clean to use as a trackday car, but ho-hum. |

Fit some new seats as well and you have cracked it mate. My cheap as chips cobra Monaco's go back so far on their subframes it feels like im sat in the back not the front.... Bit of a clamber over the cage getting in but you get used to it, plus its funny watching ya mates and missis getting in and out :D

So,
Anyone got any tidy, not excessively high mileage, standardish ones for sale thenbecause im still looking! By the way miami blue is soooooo the best coloured 205 :D |
Have a look on the sites i mentioned at the start of this thread mate .... and put a note in the wanted section. Something will come up. Oh and dont worry too much about the mileage, mine has 112,000 miles and is strong as an ox.
