Err, wtf?? Firstly it's not cheap...bit of a gas guzzler for a 1.6
I get about 40mpg out of mine on a mixture of driving, and I have quite a heavy right foot. Considering the reasonable turn of performance I think that's quite acceptable.

Then do I really need to list all the faults that i've had with ours? Plus the cost of fixing them?
Well obviously if yours broke down then they're all rubbish
Is yours a 200 or a 25? The inlet manifold gasket was a common early fault on some K's, but sorted a while back. Head gaskets have been known to go (again on earlier models) - keep an eye on your water and it needn't be very expensive. I don't think Rover dealers are any more expensive than any others, if you have any sense you will find a good independant.

I think a much better source for reliability would be something like this :

Notice that Subaru comes out as the 2nd most unreliable!?

Anyone think that the streetwise would look better if they'd colour code the 'orrible black plastic? Still would be a laughable effort though
So that it looks a total mess after the first parking scrape? The whole point is that it's designed for exactly that sort of use! Freelander owners seem to cope with 'orrible black plastic. Says something about the mentality of X5 and ML owners too....

There will always people who will never have a good thing to say about Rover and its cars - with or without any personal experience. Knocking our car industry seems to be a national pastime. Tell you what - if you don't like it, sell it and don't buy another one! Just stop moaning about it!
