Wow, what can I say?

Visited TDR today with Mark, Tony & John. Absolutely superb service from start to finish. All very friendly and extremely knowledgeable chaps.

Mark put my mind at ease with the Stutter/Stumble I've had when the engine is cold. Its just a characteristic of these engines and there's nothing to worry about whatsoever.

The car made a very healthy 306hp/346lb-ft on the dyno. Mark was very happy with how good the fueling was and the torque figures it achieved. He said his dyno is far from friendly, so for it to pull 2hp over factory fresh is great stuff! :) (photo attached below)

I didn't even have to tell them about the gearstick vibration I have mentioned earlier in this thread, as soon as they got in the car he said one of the bushes has gone in the stick :lol1:

If anyone is debating whether or not to make the trip to these guys, do not hesitate. If my car needs anymore work in the future I will 100% be travelling the 200+ mile all around trip.

Cheers TDR:cool:

I need to book in my rear subframe swap with TDR.
He is very good and very quick, best i ever met.
Nice car apart square plates, looks out of place on front bumper.Prefer UK slim/long version.
Go with pink badge ,i bought "i" badge from china i like a colour, did not fit them yet as i have purple 3d gel sticker on my old badges to match my wheels. Think pink will be to much for my car.
Im on rs14 pads now ,way less dust than RPX, rs29 ,still less than ds2500, with some squeak but i like how they perform.

I have custom yellow badges

Popped to Caffeine & Machine on last Sunday for Bank Holiday Weekend!
The Spec C got quite a fair bit of attention which was nice too see! The handful of people I spoke to never knew they came in Yellow, so when I told them there were less than 100 produced Worldwide they loved it even more!
I got sent these photographs from someone on Instagram during the week!

So as mentioned in a previous post that my Spec C was heading off to have Paint Correction followed by 1 Year Autobead Ceramic Coating and 5 Year Wheel Coating.

Here are the finished results.

Wheel Spacer sizes?

Looking to lower the Spec C a touch. It's already on Tein EDFC Suspension so lowering it is not a problem, however I want the fitment to be spot on as I find the wheels are a little to tucked for my liking. I'd love to get a flush, fat finish.

What size spacers do people run on Hatches?

matt-c 31 July 2023 08:31 PM

Spacers not good IMHO, get an ET35 wheel.

hedgecutter 31 July 2023 09:54 PM

That detail is outstanding

I don’t particularly want to change the wheels as I like the current ones. Just curious to know what size Will give me a flush finish? I was thinking 10mm Front and 15mm Rear?

He’s phenomenal mate! The Yellow really pops now!

fpan 01 August 2023 07:34 AM

Looking good :)
Not a fan of spacers either but if you must I wouldn't go more than 10mm all around (the equivalent of 45 offset wheels).
Making the rear trackwidth wider than the front will alter the car's handling and will make it understeer more.

hedgecutter 01 August 2023 07:51 AM

Definitely not something that I would do to a car tuned for handling, but I get what you think about the overhang

Gambit 01 August 2023 01:43 PM

I ran 15mm spacers on mine for near 7 years without one single issue but did take them off recently and went to a lower et wheel. Just basically because I also never really liked the idea of having a spacer when you're pushing on.

I defo wouldnt be going 10mm front and 15mm rear, you need to keep it square for reasons mentioned above

Did 15mm fill the arches nicely? Do you have any photos?
I don't like any poke, just perfect flush fitment haha.

I'll definitely go square set up with the spacers don't worry haha.

Can you get the Wheels that come on the Hatch Spec C in ET35? If so, I'd potentially look at going down that route instead.

extremecos 01 August 2023 08:33 PM

HI GINGERSPEC C,Are you still interested in a white hawkeye

Without Spacers - std hatch BBS 18x8.5 wheels at ET55 - 245/40/18 tyre

With 15mm Spacers - std hatch BBS 18x8.5 wheels at ET55 reduced to ET40 using the spacers - 245/40/18 tyre

and then this is on my new wheels with no spacers. Speedline Marmora 18 x 8.0 at et40 - still using a 245/40/18 tyre

for reference the Impreza Cosworth CS400 uses 18x8.5 et43 wheels
