Probably a dressy or diver type......can't really get away wearing a sporty watch whilst wearing a suit. I am not Becks.

andy97 19 November 2015 07:48 AM

LG Obane 2 or the Citizen light watch for something simple. Never really saw the fascination with uber expensive watches

andy97 21 August 2016 06:24 PM

After saying I wasn't interested in uber expensive watches. I have been given one, which costs a small fortune. Having not worn a watch for 30 years it has reignited my desire to wear a watch. So I wear my special watch on dress occasions and got myself a nice analogue with digital insides for daily use. Plus I invested in a beautiful watch winder to keep my pride and joy wound. Just shows!

LSherratt 21 August 2016 09:55 PM

Go on then, what have you been given? :D

What were the chances... It's my Birthday today and I've always wanted a nice modern automatic watch. I've got an automatic Seiko which I wear everyday, a vintage Omega and my Dad has 3 nice Rolex's which I think sparked my interest. Anyway, this morning I opened a present and my fiancé has got me the new blue ceramic Omega Seamaster! A complete surprise! Currently on the way to get it resized :D

I just googled Breitling Transocean. It looks nice. A lot of Breits are very fussy which I don't like but that Transocean looks a little held back which is good IMO.

Nice gift that.

Got a few watches myself, nothing expensive. Few Seiko divers (one modded one) my 'best' is a steinhart which is a bit of a vintage sub homage.

I'd like a 60's sub but they're well out of my reach now.

my wife would buy me Undies :(

I've got that book and I keep it in my bathroom :). It's one of those quirky books you would find in posh garden centres etc. I agree, it's very interesting particularly as I chop, stack and season my own firewood.

yes agree - a good read and aesthetically pleasing too

and - I have a job penned in to spend a day chopping and re-stacking my woodpile before the winter sets in!

lol, the watch looks enormous

but on a brighter note - your cock must look massive when you are holding it too

One of the few advantages, also helps when doing the plugs :lol1::lol1:

SmurfyBhoy 24 August 2016 04:55 PM

Don't mention plugs, my hands are still fecking bleeding!

I always hankered after a skeleton watch,

loved the look of the Rotary Skeletons, glass font and rear,

Not particularly expensive, but just look nice,

Was all set to buy, and then i spotted a left field alternative

an Ingersoll Ghandi Skeleton,

Saw one many years ago at a small jewelers, but he wanted silly money

for it. I managed to pick it up for just over a quarter of its current price.

It ticks like an old school watch, makes a change from the precise quartz

driven movements :)

You literally can't beat Jaeger Lecoultre watches... something like the Jubilee collection. Though they are more investments than watches..

lol, I actually have quite small hands too

I watch with too large a face would look a bit silly on me I suspect

Source a used Bremont Martin Baker 2. Only ever going up in value, can be sourced at the top of your budget and won't break the bank, unlike a Rolex sports watch.

I quite like BRM Watches, and seriously considering a V12 model.

Bit pricey at nearly £5k.

I have a TAG F1 similar to this with the same strap, is ok with suit and the jeans option.

I also have a couple of Rado's with self wind thing, one all ceramic and one with a similar strap to the TAG but with pierced front, again both fine with casual or more formal wear.

Have a couple of others mot really dual wears ones IMHO.
