Well it moves like a beast! :)

You're being modest Tom...

When I had mine mapped at SC, the difference between the ATW and the corrected ATFW figures dictated, precisely lol, 20.79% worth of losses.

So if you apply that factor to your 400.7 bhp, then it equates to 400.7 / 0.7921 = 505.9 bhp ATW!!

Similarly, your ATW torque of 503.2 Nm (371.1 lb ft) = 635.3Nm (468.6 lb ft) ATFW. :)

I know there are so many factors when it comes to correcting for the FW... But at least you can think you have those great figures. lol ;)

But, regardless of a set of numbers, it's the real world driving and the veritable Cheshire Cat-like grin that REEEEALLY matters, eh? ;)

Got plenty of torque at 4200rpm and it is lots of fun!! :D

Those Rototest figures are measured at the hubs with wheels off so I think traditional rollers give more drivetrain loss? I have also used 16% (different swedish tuner also with rototest) which gave me 370 HP on a VF28 on E85. I don't think that much more would be realistic on a stock VF28.

330 at the fly is about the limit for the VF28, on SUL.

So 370 on E85 sound about right -- but that's still an amazing result though!

You've got the best of all worlds: decent top end (what with the 370bhp)... From a super-spooling 'little' VF28 turbo! :notworthy

Attachment 53424

This arrived today, I can't wait to see what the SC50 twin scroll with the modified cold side inlet can do on my Spec C.

Results will probably be available in early February and will be mapped by Martyn down at Enginetuner. :)

You could say that, I'm a little apprehensive about using this turbo on a 2.0 engine but a little meth should help with the spool.

I think it'll require a little change of driving style, but as has been said 'If you have lag then you're in the wrong gear'. :D

joz8968 13 January 2013 08:29 PM

Totes.

That's what a gearbox is for (although sometimes one's not in the mood for stirring :( - it's the age lol).

But once it's on boost, boy will you know it!

If your anything like me Ty, You will be used to changing gear all the time with the JDM box, I always seem to be looking for 7th :lol1:

I really like the ratios on the JDM transmissions, they really allow you to keep the car on the boil very easily.

I know what you mean about wanting a 7th gear but I thought overall the gearing worked out pretty similar between JDM and UK overall drive ratios, maybe the UK maybe slightly higher but not by much. :)
