@Major
changed all 4 coil-packs to new ones, wasnt cheap, but now it runs perfect, no stocking :-D thanks |
Awesome :luxhello: :D
People take note: Misfires after chipping are almost always the coilpacks! :thumb: |
Mines all sorted now, got 7b plugs in now gapped to .65mm. Went to the nurburgring with no problems, never ran so well or so fast.
Very happy. Suspension, brakes and tyres next!! |
:notworthy I'd love to hit the Nordschleife.

Sorry it's been a while since I updated the thread or replied to PMs. I've been away from home as my father died last week and he lived 300 miles away. There's been a lot to deal with...

Please bear in mind that the chip is advertised as producing 16psi as the settings for the boost control solenoid will produce that on a healthy setup. If your BCS is old or worn or there are other factors, then you won't achieve full boost. Firstly, check and clean all the pipes to and from the BCS and clean the BCS itself with brake and clutch cleaner, see if that makes any difference. Let me know how you get on. |
Hi mate, Ive just bought uk 2000 turbo on a 95. Ive got full de-cat, panel air filter, walbro fuel pump and it currently runs just on a bar iwth td04. is this chip worth me considering, if you have any more left
|
Sorry mate, forgot to reply to this, have sent you a PM.
|
LOL....glad to see these things are still selling, and also glad someone else has to deal with all the enquiries and try to convince people thay have coil pack issues or their boost control pipes are plumbed wrong.
Dodgey coilpacks were the bain of my life....... regards Scott.T (Historic ScoobyECU and Polar Performance ECU upgrades supplier) As your from IOW I assume your mates with.......Dave IIRC.......LOL just read the 1st page and saw my name 'in lights' and reference to Dave. |
Hey Scott, nice to see you pop up in the thread from time to time. Don't suppose you fancy answering some of my PMs? ;)
|
i can vouch for these chips, i've just had one supplied and fitted by major sarcasm and he was good enough to look over my ecu when i thought it was fried. Top guy tbh, The chip has made loads of difference to engine responsivness and power and has made my car a lot more fun to drive.
Bump for a descent chap |
Thanks Gaz :)

Hi,
Time for me to have a problem... The car overboost in 4th and 5th only after 4300rpm and i get a fuel cut. I cleand the boost solenoid and the hoses that get in it,but no change. What could i do??? Thanks, Alex |
i just had that problem with mine mate and it was because the maf elements were dirty, i just cleaned them off with brake cleaner put the maf back on and job done all ok again.
|
So you just sprayed brake cleaner inside the maf where that bulb is????
Thanks |
Certainly, cleaning the MAFS might help. You could also try and borrow a known good BCS and rule yours out. Just cleaning them doesn't always work.
|
Hi just thought I'd ask seeing as the start of this thread was a while ago lol Any chips left?
|
No chips at the moment...

Hi, Time for me to have a problem... The car overboost in 4th and 5th only after 4300rpm and i get a fuel cut. what should i do? |
Hi,
Did you tryed to clean all the hoses that get into the boost solenoid and the solenoid also??If not try clean them with carb cleaner or brake cleaner. I didn't do nothing to mine except cleaning everithing but now the roads are covered in snow so i can't test the car at maximum capacity. The only solution i think if cleaning dosen't work is to modify the wastegate arm lenght. Thanks, |
Hi guys, sorry I missed this one, I've been a little busy over xmas.
Boost creep could be down to exhaust design coupled with other factors. These cars are getting old, many things can affect boost control. Kox's suggestion about lengthening the actuator arm slightly is a good one and what I was going to suggest too. Pop it off the wastegate, wind it out a turn or two and see if that helps. |
Hi Happy New Year! I own a 99 'wagon in Barcelona Spain and wanted to know when you'll have chips available? There are several models? gasoline here is 95 or 98 octanes .. good keep in touch greetings!
|
Hi Marcel, these won't fit any newer than 1996 I'm afraid. The clue is in the thread title ;)
|
sorry...:nopity:
|
anyone running a boost gauge with theirs? what boost do you get?
fitted a boost gauge today and im only getting 14psi, sometimes it will spike to 16. i recently checked my coils packs and replaced one which was cracked. maybe i have to check my boost plumbing for splits. |
just been out again.
i can just about get 15-16psi in 4th and 5th but i only get 10psi in 1st, and about 14 psi in 2nd and 3rd. is this normal? |
The boost levels are set for an ideal world. Ideal world being newish car with newish components. Also, with these kinds of remaps, we have to have relatively conservative settings or people will hit boost cut all over the place. In addition, boost gauges are rarely accurate and most cars have less boost in 1st & 2nd gears. My car is mapped by Bob Rawle with a Prodrive 3-port boost control solenoid and I don't get anywhere near max boost in 1st.
It's not all about boost, it's about driveability too. 99% of people agree, with a chip fitted, the cars feel quicker, are more responsive and give better fuel economy. Not bad for a hundred quid. If you need better than this, you need a tailored option; an aftermarket boost controller & a standalone ECU, custom-mapped specifically for your car. |
Any idea when your next getting chips?
