Just simple numbers show that this idea that they're all heading here because we're so generous / gullible / being stitched up by other EU countries, is just not true...

A vanishingly small percentage of the 1.3 million asylum seekers that entered the EU in 2015 are in Calais. And only a tiny number of them will ever set foot in the UK.

alcazar 01 March 2016 03:29 PM

If they truly ARE asylum sekers and not just migrants, (which they undoubtedly are), NONE of them should end up here.

IT'S AGAINST EUROPEAN LAW!!!

But we roundly voted THAT lot of liars out of office, didn't we?

Sadly, I think you may be right. We will either be told to vote again, or the Sweaties and scared women will vote to keep us in.

You'll have to explain that one, I'm afraid.

Our commitment to overseas aid is through the UN

That's why there's a big camp in Calais isn't it?

Cam-moron enshrined it in UK law last parliament. So now we HAVE to give to the likes of India, even when WE can't afford it.

Don't get me wrong, Martin, I'd love to help as many as possible of the world's poor. But SURELY, those who have paid in, or whose families have, should be first to be looked after?

Not following you again. You really do go off at a tangent, don't you?

They don't even have the right to be there. the LAW is that you apply for asylum in the FIRST country you come to after leaving the one you want asylum from. So unless they want asylum from Germany, Belgium, Spain, etc, they have no right to be in France either!

It really is time we enforced those rules. Round 'em up and deport 'em back to Syria, or wherever. Whatever the cost. It would serve to deter some more too.
And if they've chucked their papers, lock em up in camps until they admit where they are from and ask to go back.

We just don't have the money, jobs, healthcare, school places or housing to look after millions of immigrants, unskilled ones...and nor does the rest of Europe.

No, Calais is just south of the border. I expect she was scared she'd get deported though, and end up in some god-forsaken hole like Ostend or Zeebrugge.

dpb 01 March 2016 07:29 PM

No I mean those containers theyre forcing them into near Calais presumably come with clauses.
Worse still she could end up in north lincolnshire

3rd March 2016 - European Council president Donald Tusk has vowed to provide further help to member states to deport illegal immigrants and said reinstating the Dublin Agreement - by which all migrants have to claim asylum in the first EU country they reach - is the only way to save the Schengen zone.

During a visit to embattled Croatia, which is on the frontline of the migrant trail between Greece and Germany, he told the country's Prime Minister Tihomir Oreškovi? that the time has come for Europe to get tough on illegal immigrants

He said: "The first priority is to rapidly stem the flows and reduce illegal migration while preserving the integrity of the Schengen area.

"Member States should refuse entry to third-country nationals who do not meet the necessary conditions or who, although they were able to do so earlier, did not apply for asylum."

Nasty racist xenophobic EU - they sound just like UKIP

LOL at the usual liberals, simply because the ONLY thread I could find about the rapes in germany came from a questionable site.

So......it's not happening then, guys? At all? New Years Eve was lies.
What the internet is reporting, (again being hidden by the major media) is lies?

And the similar question to you all: when will you want to put a stop to migrant attacks on women? when it affects you and yours?

How about HERE: https://www.google.co.uk/?gfe_rd=cr&...+swimming+pool

Plenty to choose from...but seeing as how you lot didn't actually SEE it, it'll not be happening.
You got daughters Wives? sisters? female friends? ask them how they feel?

Scaremongering nonsense, Alcazar.

That's an almost comically simplistic response, and one I doubt you're even fully convinced of yourself.

Hopkins's article makes quite depressing reading. Without doubt unintentionally, she's putting forward some pretty strong arguments to vote Remain, for the sole reason that the EU is so far down the sh!tter already, leaving would just drag us down further with it.

Have you noticed how virtually everyone in the EU itself are just going on about immigration and nothing else lately?
