I know, which makes him taking that name even more ridiculous :)

Ali, I've already said 'OK' in my previous post #325 (okeedoh....kee meaning 'OK'. I used 'doh' as my mid wording as 'Oh, my bad :brickwall' as Simpsons, man! I used 'doh.....' because I know you like Simpsons), so yes, I've already read and understood by your #324 that you weren't being serious or asserting your support to the petition by posting that link.

Yes, previous to my 'okeedoh...kee' post I did think that you posted that link in #301 with all seriousness of your viewpoint in support to that petition. It wasn't exactly a humour fail on my part, to be fair. I took it as serious, because there was no indication of that being non-serious e.g. accompanied by any smiley etc., and it came bang in the middle of the time when the blind following of the petition was being highlighted.

I really didn't mean to cause any offence, man. I'll say it again- Doh.............! :D

Just a silly misunderstanding, by the looks of it. There's nothing to argue, and let's move on. :thumb:

Aha Simpsons...

Okeeedohkee sounds like Ned Flanders. He has issues with negative emotions and masks them with connotations. Ned saying "Okeeleedohkeely doo neighbourino" to Homer actually means "I wanna slap you silly you overweight ignorant oaf" :D

So yeah things can get misconstrued; There's some deep, dark stuff in The Simpsons! :D :lol1:

But "Doh!", is well, just Doh!

No offence meant and non taken :thumb:

Anyhoo....moving on :lol1:

I used to like watching Top Gear in the 90's as a kid. Couldn't wait for Tony Mason's bit to finish and Clarkson to come on. Back then it seemed he was a car fan with a sense of humour and I was a big fan into the early years of new Top Gear.

I've got a load of his books and his DVD's/videos going back 20 years but I've found myself really started to dislike him. Now he comes across as a clown who likes cars and I find the humour on the show infantile - and if you knew me, you'd see the irony. But now the show has 300-odd million viewers worldwide, so not everyone agrees with me.

I met Tiff at Le Mans in 2009. Spent most of the night in the beer tent and he came across as a nice bloke who liked a drink and wasn't afraid of mixing with mere peasants like me. I wasn't staying at the posh bit either, it was a campsite. He didn't once kick off about the food either.

I love Top Gear

RS_Matt 12 March 2015 12:22 AM

For me Plato, May and Needle have to host the show.

If you think Clarkson is up his own arse then Plato is on a different level! Met him at Silverstone with my son. Not a nice man, all smiles and charm for the camera but wouldn't give anybody the time of day unless your where a young female with big tits. Joker

You're not the first person I've heard that from, he must be a bit of a cock away from the camera. :(

Which was why both Yvan Muller and Matt Neal came very close to cracking him. (Not that there is any justification for that).

And they'll be cash left over to make and produce 25 other series

Jeez!! Who on earth forces you to watch it?? :brickwall:brickwall:brickwall:brickwall

Cash left over? :nono: TG is one of the BBC's highest earners if not the highest - licence fee might have to go up and they will probably have to compensate the foreign (if I'm allowed to say that term) TV stations who have bought the series.

....and, on another point, can anyone explain what the issue was over the eeny meeny miny mo debacle? Whilst he intimated the n word, he never actually said it and it was edited out until a "leak" which then blew up and he was forced to make an apology - over what? Now, if it had been on a live transmission, I could understand some of the issue.

Also, as a result of this total stupidity, I now know that a slope is thought by some as a derogatory term - still don't know why and not interested. In any case the word was used in it's correct context in that the bridge was not level. So again, what's the issue??

It's political correctness gone mad mate, my generation grew up with it yet now you can't even hint at it.

Considering how many black people call each other nigger it kinda takes the piss tbh

dpb 12 March 2015 09:51 AM

Keep up the half hidden inferences cos that's all that sells the programme to the world , is that what you're saying

Neal going for Plato is one of the funniest bits of footage I've seen on the BTCC. Plato's giving it the big one from the safe little world that is the inside of his helmet, with the giant that is Matt Neal towering over him. :lol1:

What a shame

It's a bit different when it comes out the mouth of a rich, white, middle aged man, who (despite his 'anti-establishment 'image') is clearly part of the establishment, though isn't it?

No it isn't.
Yes he is.

Seems to me that some people are quick to enforce rules/laws when it suits, then subsequently make exceptions for certain sections of society on the basis that they are oppressed/poor/dis-advantaged.

Rules are rules, as I am frequently informed, and apply to everyone.
In theory.

You'd hope there was a poll to get rid of Cohen , after reading that :thumb:

The BBC get rid of one of their left wing darlings? Not a chance unfortunately. If Clarkson gets the sack it's a shame it wasn't Cohen he smacked for being a back stabbing ****.

dpb 12 March 2015 03:08 PM

With a 2 jags jab ! ( I signed his blasted redemption form anyway :). )

f1_fan 12 March 2015 03:13 PM

What is funny about this thread is that for at least the last five series most posters on here have been slagging the show off, now they are all falling over themselves with outrage at Clarkson's potential sacking :lol1:

At the end of the day if he has thumped a fellow member of staff and that member of staff wants to forget about it and move on then that should be that, if not then he should be sacked as you cannot assault work colleagues as much as some of us may want to sometimes.

The dilemma for the BBC is how big an asset is Clarkson to them in terms of financial draw for overseas programme sales? They were very keen to say no one person is bigger than the BBC, but by cancelling the show they have as good as shown that is not the case!

I hope he survives this and goes on to take the p1ss out of those that sought to remove him whenever he can :D

Someone's going to have to enlighten me on this, how on earth has being a 'lefty' become an insult?

It's SN mate, don't worry about it ;)

I'm a lefty I guess and I don't want him sacked, well not unless there is proper reason to do so and it's beginning to sound like there isn't frankly although with our media we will probably never get the truth, why would they change the habit of a lifetime? ;)

Kwik 12 March 2015 04:36 PM

It's perfectly acceptable for ITV to broadcast Kanye West live using the N word but not for a white man to mutter it in an unbroadcasted piece of footage.
More rumours are circulating that Clarkson kicked off because they returned from their hotel to find cold meat for dinner rather than a hot meal, and that the three presenters were then cooked for.
