I think the only way Britain will be able to trade with the EU if it exits, is by taking in more Immigrants. They are holding all the cards and that will obviously be their trump card they will play. They are doing similar with Turkey.
Really? You believe that?

That the Germans will refuse to sell us their cars unless we take more immigrants and we'll agree? You're crazy.

I look at the evidence, examine the claims and rhetoric, check the sources; which means reading not just what reflects what I may initially think, but also what the "other side" say/claim - and come to a reasoned view

that I am prepared to defend

I keep and open mind - but not so open my brains fall out

If the UK wants uncontrolled borders then yes, there will be free trade with the EU. As one of the main points against the EU was uncontrolled borders, then I don't see free trade will ever be achieved. There will be a tariff of some sort, how much that will be will depend on the negotiations.

dpb 28 June 2016 04:43 PM

Well weve hardly had any immigrants at all so far , relatively !

They won't refuse to sell us their cars, they will be more than happy to continue selling us their cars and the British public will continue to buy them! If tariffs come in and the price goes up for the UK, they will maybe see a small drop in sales, but the German car industry is not going to lose any sleep about it!

What car industry do we have? A couple of Japanese manufacturers who are only in the UK for access to the EU market and a couple of US manufacturers that only manufacture a couple of models each in the UK, the rest are manufactured in Germany.

We're going to be paying the same import tariffs on all foreign manufactured vehicles which account for the majority of models on the UK roads. The Japanese manufacturers and possibly Ford/Vauxhall are very likely to move manufacturing outside of the UK to keep within the EU market.

Really, German car manufacturers are not in the slightest bit worried about losing sales and couldn't care less if the UK customer has to pay more for the cars because they know we will still buy them.

You are very much over estimating Germany's need for a trade deal as they know without other trade deals we'll still be buying from them!

BMW sells to the whole word and the U.K. Is only a small country, of course they will still sell to us but without any agreements it will be plus Vat and duty on your purchase like the old days.

that the 350 million saved to go into public services?

that the economic fall out would be minimal (forget the ups and downs of the stock markets / currency the mean diddly squat in the grand scheme of things)

we have lost our AAA credit rating from all the credit rating agencies - which will probably mean our debt will cost more to service

our short / medium term prospect are being downgraded by just about every single financial agency

we are almost certainly heading for another recession

and all that - we will probably end up in EEA, paying for the privilege, accepting virtually free movement of labour - but with NO control/influence over rules or regulations

I voted to remain though.

hodgy0_2 28 June 2016 06:16 PM

Ah ok, sorry Edd

I saw you listed in the poll as an outer - I apologise

Did you change your mind, if so what swung it for you

Presumably costs BMW quite a lot more too,

They must have a completely different production lines etc

Didn't lancia simply pull out the UK, in the 90's, a decision I can't believe they would have taken if we drove on the right

dpb 28 June 2016 06:34 PM

Drove a newish Lancia recenty in Italy , I'm sure it was Japanese in everything but the badge

That's enough for me, and a similar process has decided our governments for many years.

Of course if everyone should stick with their original vote why bother doing it again? It would be the same outcome or have I missed something?

win or lose take it on the chin, at least you had your say either way, just how democratic would it of been to all 600 odd mp's to decide for us, 600 odd dictating what happens to 46million on something this important is not my defenition of democracy, the people where asked to vote and vote we did, and if your side lost hard **** deal with it

Why don't we adopt an Australian points based immigration system !

http://www.independent.co.uk/life-st...-a7107256.html

madscoob 28 June 2016 07:28 PM

immigration should be made simple anyone is welcome providing they can answer a few questions
1 do you have enough monies to support yourself for 12 months
if no go home
if yes welcome but sign her to say you will go home after 12months if you have not found a job
2 no benefits work related or income support for 4 years (pay in before you get any out)
3 you can come here with no monie if you have a company to sponsor you or family to finance you 12months job seeking
4 if you can't read speak or write english go home
5 no criminal record of any kind (proof needed)
no matter what country you hail from all the above rules apply, how difficult does it need to be :thumb:

dpb 28 June 2016 07:44 PM

4, Would you advocate beating them until they speak da proper English , like we would in their own countries LOL

Think youll find the vast majority the troublesome newcomers pass that lot with flying colours - which of course is what worries your type

JGlanzaV 28 June 2016 07:58 PM

wouldnt need to they would fail 1 2 3 5
how many have got 23k in their back pocket lol
if they had they would be on a speed boat from france
it wasn't ment to appear racist just fair i have always said anyone should be allowed to live anywhere so long as they can suppoert themselves until they find a job, and not be a burden on the taxpayers of the country they are moving to, i for one would love to move to canada but because of medical reasons and my disabled son they would never want us as a family. we can afford to sell up and buy somewhere there and support ourselves until i found a job, but would be a medical burden to canada so the wouldn't take us, i accept that as i wouldnt want other people to pay for my sons care

dpb 28 June 2016 09:08 PM

you mean it would be too expensive I presume* , why would they specify no disabled ?

no not to expencive at all 260k in english gets you a nice house in canada
but the private medical insurance for being diabetic and autistic would be unaffordable on the wage i would get, plus the company i wanted to work for would have to proove i could do the job better than a canadian

Well prob in the autumn after the election

Osborn is giving that ****ty stick to his successor

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politic...endum-36647006

"Tax rises and spending cuts will be needed to deal with the "shock" to the UK economy caused by leaving the EU, Chancellor George Osborne has said.

He said such decisions would be taken by the next prime minister, adding that his pre-referendum warnings "have started to be borne out by events".

Meanwhile Forage said in the EU parliament "you are not laughing now"

Well quite

But interesting that Warren and his crew vowed to contest an IN vote

Based on the website crashing and a 2 day amnesty being given

It was thought to benefit just that age range

Democracy eh,

Having watched that exchange earlier I can't help but feel the best place for Nigel Farage is as far away from any negotiations as possible. The last thing we need is someone like that representing the UK.
