Few updates:

We are receive the car on Monday and everything has been just spot on,we are went fit the custom diffuser to Aerokit.eu and on road to the Mags@RTS for our wheels our WRX loom get ghost and looked like we are get big end:freak3:
and we are stuck on motorway about the 2 hours, plus we are take the car straight away to the Neil@Slowboy Racing.Plus really i would like to thanks to the Neil@Slowboy racing and Duncan for advice :thumb:

But at garage car started without the problem(just matt touched the loom and car started right away),just run little bit rich, which can be done to the ex-LPG fitting, which are wired to the injectors etc.

Looking like the our WRX loom which causing problems, how to say our car has been before converted to LPG as i said before in our thread and plus has been automatic too.

Due this Neil will replace our loom for STi loom which will be better option, this i want done before, but due i can't hold the STi loom we can't manage this

Here is few pictures of "new upgrades"

The diffuser looks spot on :notworthy

EH52WRX 01 March 2012 07:57 AM

Jura, your new wheels could do with a colour change, IMO. I think anthracite would look the nuts.

trails 01 March 2012 11:33 AM

Looms are a pain eh Jura...need a rear shot of that diffuser, had to go one better than me eh :D :notworthy

Ian if i know we will have this problem,i would replace the loom for manual one from start, but will be replaced hope so for manual one

About the diffuser, this has made for us aerokit.eu which are really good and including fitting price is great

Have look on this and you will see if would work on yours too

http://www.aerokit.eu/eng/product.ph...category_id=81

I would make better pics on Friday or next week if this help

Few updates:

Engine loom is replaced and everything should be OK for now, second concern is Dash2 which doesn't read correctly speed and some analogue inputs(those analogue inputs read as Water temp,Oil temp, oil pressure and boost) read inconsistent, but hope so will be sorted in coming week.

Second thing is we are probably go route of full flat floor(similar to the Duncan TA car,but with some air channelling for diffuser) ,which will be done in couple of weeks,we would like gain some downforce and now is fitted too diffuser which will be worked with flat floor

If everything will go under plan,we are looking for ABW arches and go with wider tyres(255/40 or 265/40) and some sort of hub centric spacers, this is last bit which we would like to get on wagon and from this will be wagon ready be just weekend toy/track day

Will it ever end, there's always more - is gonna be mental at this rate:thumb:

Few updates:

Car is now at home after few hiccups which i've done(i've flash ECU with CustomCAN and i forgot to assign inputs, after that car has don't even start ECU has been connected, but Not in Sync, but now is everything OK),plus today Duncan@Race Dynamix tweak the map at RCM(such a place...),plus he fitted the LC on button and pops and bangs are mapped too, what i can say, great service and thanks to Duncan for top service

Neil done great job on car, everything is now spot on,DASH2 needs to be connected to the ECU(will be done on 11th plus other bits),Tow strap is fitted,we are want to done WhiteLine bump steer, but thinking we will put this on later on(next week or so),plus Syvecs wideband will be fitted too in next few days.Just few jobs to do: Spec C roof vent and ABW arches, which everything will be done in couple of weeks

Plus we are fitted AEM water methanol kit, hope so now we will make 500bhp,which we are still want

Car feels great on road, handling is unbelievable, really love the roundabouts and twisty roads with this wagon

Here are few pictures which we are take after several updates/upgrades on our wagon

Hi Jeff

i know what you mean, and why wagon?

Wagon is something what many people leave like is it and we are want something which will be like for track and road use and will be still more than.

Many people modding the classic or new age WRX or STi,but wagons you will find them just dozens

Really appreciated for your kind comment, this wheel colour will stay for now.

jef 26 March 2012 12:32 AM

you know that way you either "get" something or dont.

with subaru wagons there is definitely something of a cult following - i just never got it mate. they just dont appeal to me - having said that, yours is as good an example as ive seen. very impressive looking car mate. i can still appreciate the cars for what they are - just i dont have "the love" so to speak lol.

but again yours is a sweet motor mate, keep up the good work. think the wheel colour actually really compliments the blue, good choice! :)

JonMc 26 March 2012 06:22 AM

Have you changed the steering wheel too, looks really good now, doesn't need the ABW arches though, the wheels look sweet as it is:D

trails 26 March 2012 10:46 AM

Looking good as always Jura :)

Jeff, its a sleeper thing; nobody expects an estate to move that quickly and whereas a salon or coupe with thier big wings shout for attention wagons generally just fade into the background...well unless you have a Jura-Monster :lol1::cool:

Hi Jeff

Its not the cult, its just way how to be different,as I said almost everyone have modified saloon/coupe and wagons are just nice sleepers(if you are leaving all standard from outside etc.).

Again there thanks for comment:thumb:

Hi Jon

Thanks.
Yes we are changed steering wheels, still is small(my brother love the small one steering wheel),not sure about the ABW,because if we would go with our wider 17"(255/45) they are literally stuck at rear and not sure if its all right for driving,i don't want be pulled by police/VOSA

As we are said,we will see and we are still not sure:thumb:

Again thanks Jon for your kind comment:thumb:

As you are said, its all about the be sleeper and mainly many people think we are have this wagon only for show,we are love how it looks and about the power, still we are would like more and more as many people here and our target is now 500-520bhp and still we are thinking put 2.35L and GT30 .64AR

Again thanks Ian for your kind comment

haha youve got it there - sleeper., its just because ive spent all my time with saloons, ive never caught the bug of wagons, and probably dismissed them, ashamedly. sleeper to me is what mine will be, uk turbo shell with a bit of poke lol - so kinda why i never associated this with wagons

the classic wagon to me really looks very long in the tooth now i think - even more so than saloons imo.
but juras wagon is proper sweet, the more i look the more i like!

it looks really clean/fresh/agressive. and miles apart from the initial image i think of when wagons are mentioned.

im not slating yours jura, far from it, and totally agree its good for people to go in different directions, and your result is quite stunning - haha i want one now lol

If I was worried about its looks then I'd have brought a GTA wagon :lol1: Purchase criteria was three people, three bikes and fun to drive. I went to buy a new blob wagon and was deeply disapointed so the dealer let me have a go in a classic; three months later of hunting for the right spec and I ticked all three boxes. After nearly nine years its departed a little different from standard but still makes me smile :thumb:

Thanks Ian and still we are not sure, what to do,but booked tomorrow for 1st track days with wagon and we will see how it perform on road

Our reason has been simple, when we are looked for Impreza this tick all boxes,4EAT and paddle shift and amazing handling comparing to the Mondeo ST220

jura11 04 April 2012 05:36 PM

Little update:

Wow First track day with wagon and what we are think, wagon is better suited for drag(still not the best times, but enjoyable results) than Track.

Looking like our biggest problem is wheel alignment, where really we can't push too much into corner and we are been slower at corners than expected,on straights car has been faster than we are expected, but when comes Paddock Hill,we have little brown trousers moment(there has been damp on the track on some places and one side of the wheels has been on damp side of the track and other side wheels has been on dry track),which doesn't help with our confidence.

Second thought is really we are don't have any rear downforce, which on some corners has this been feel.

We are run on Vreds, but still not sure if they're OK for track or not,on drag i'm sure they're not the best and really can't wait test Toyo on drag strip in couple of weeks

Anyway has been fun,we are learn,we need new alignment(at moment front camber is around 1.34 and rear around 2.35-2.55),which can help us on track, but after discussion with my brother we are decide wagon will be more for Drag than like Track days, yes we will do more track days, but at moment,Santa pod will be better fun(think safer too)

But curious is on road wagon feels much better than on track,we are not pushed too hard on wagon, but still think on B roads is amazing car which most count for us and on drag strip is still fast enough, maybe will be faster too after doing all remaining things, which we are want to do.

Last thing,is we are thinking buy better pads(PF pads are our choice) with the discs(AP racing disc will be our choice, plus if PF disc can be fitted we will deffo will go with them) and that's it about the upgrading something on the car

Jura

JonMc 04 April 2012 05:52 PM

That wheel alignment looks ripe for understeer - I have 1/4 degree more at the front than the rear (1.75 and 1.5).

At least you had fun so keep on enjoying:thumb:

Thanks Jon,yes looking like is more understeer, but on the road feels amazing and next week we are going again for alignment

Little update:

Yesterday i've look on car, what is missing after track day at Brands Hatch, looking like we are lost 2 Rota centre caps:D and on one alloy has been small tar spot, but with the WD40 has been easy to clean:D

Plus i pulled from Syvecs logs and looking like from logs,we are not drive too bad at all, shifting has been OK(usually gear shifts has been at around 6800RPM,once has been almost 7800RPM what is rev limit),everything has been OK from logs, just wish we can logs wideband(wideband is bought, just needs to be fitted and configured),oil and oil pressure temps(yes there are sensors, but not sure if its worth,if we are running all ready gauges)

Next week we are hopping for new alignment, more orientated for track, for drag we will need run something like 0 camber, which will be very bad for driving here on roads, this means no more fast road driving :wow:

What next?

New brake fluid Motul RBF 600 or Performance Friction Racing RH665,which will be added when we will go with PF 356mm discs and PF Z rated pads, which will be replaced when will be time

Wideband will be fitted in next two weeks, plus will needs to be mapped AEM water methanol kit with 50/50(at moment we are running pure water which kicking from 1bar and cut is 1.5bar),NOS will needs to be too done, still we are not running, which is shame, still we don't know how will perform on track or drag and last thing will needs to configure CAN for RT DASH2,looking like our Syvecs doesn't support CANbus(just RS-232),but Ryan@Syvecs.co.uk will replace our ECU with which is CANbus(hopefully will work now DASH2 as should be),plus speed sensor will needs to be wired to the ECU(now at logs i can't see speeds which we are run on the drag or track)

Ian about the ABW arch extension,we are not going with them,Darren@ABW said those arch extension will not fit our wagon:(

We are sticking just like is it for now:thumb:

Other bits needs to be done as i said, about the brakes we will see,our K-Sport are still OK,but we are thinking about the upgrade the pads and discs at least:norty:

Your camber is completely wrong - you should have a lot more negative camber at the front than at the back- that's why it didn't handle on track and when it is aligned properly you should make sure the castor and toe is set properly too. Put the "prodrive" fast road settings on it and it will be transformed.

Hi there

Yeah we know now is not working setup before, now is changed to -2.31/-2.36 at front and at rear is around -2.00/-1.56 we will see if this will be better setup for track days.

About the castor and toe has been setup'd now which can transform ride too,but on road feels now much better, just we will see how it perform on track too:thumb:
