I

Yes. I'm just aghast at that speech. Classic nationalism.

lozgti1 20 January 2017 07:32 PM

Interesting 'protests'

Is TV making a bit of a meal of it?

joz8968 20 January 2017 08:34 PM

- "And by demagoguery, you mean...?"

- "By demagoguery, I mean demagoguery."

I thought the same. Had me thinking, I wonder if this is how Hitler sounded to 1930s Germany.

hodgy0_2 20 January 2017 08:58 PM

yes,

basically,

"ein volk ein reich ein führer"

joz8968 21 January 2017 12:03 AM

lol

Some of the protesters were chanting that ridiculous # I believe that we will win # thing.

Lame as.

fascinating news conference by Trump press secretary - Sean Spicer

it did remind me of Chemical Ali - when he insisted that Bagdad was free from American troops when they and their tanks could clearly be seen in the background - lol

Spicer insisted the crowds at the inauguration ceremony where indeed record breaking even though they clearly not - pathetic and laughable in fact it was a clear demonstration of alt.reality

(the excuse was he was, and I am not making this up, presenting "alternative facts")

anyway the actual crowd numbers are tittle tattle and irrelevant - either way tbh

what is fascinating is that presumably they believe, in the words of Groucho Marx

“Who are you going to believe, me or your own eyes?”

I suspect we are going to have 4 years of facts (backed by evidence) and 4 years of alternative facts - (backed up by 0)

 at all the Guardian readers on this thread having one big naive love-in!

You guys really are in for some fun in the coming years ahead with the liberal age well and truly over ;) You'll have plenty of things to rant about, although some of you may wake up and smell the coffee during this period hopefully :)

Can you show me the picture that you are believing your eyes with ☺

I doubt very much if trump had more supporters than obama ,considering where it was held .

But i do believe the media try their best sway public opinion.

Does the picture you have seen look anywhere near similer to this one

Looking at the Facebook gigapixel panorama photo, that bullet-proof screen looks like it only comes up to approx. chest height! Certainly not beyond head height.

Must be an optical illusion, I guess.

dpb 23 January 2017 03:50 AM

The bouffant probably enough deflect a head shot

The only thing that your evidence proves with little doubt is that at 11am the numbers dont look great.

If you compare my picture and yours is it not possable and probable that more people arrived later due to protesters blocking entrances and the high security checks on people trying to get in .

The picture you posted paints the picture the media wanted.

I see what you mean, obviously. But why would the bullet shield be 'shopped (if it has)? It would serve no purpose.

But I can understand the possible photo-cloning of the crowds.

I was only commenting on the apparent height of the shield - Facebook photo, or not. As it looks low. Whereas on the news, it did indeed look like it was covering him.

I guess it's a trick of the vantage point.

sorry, the 11am is just w4nked about on facebook - to make it look like it was taken earlier that it was, so your very first sentence is b0llox, a lie and alternative fact

jeez

the editor of Reuters, who commissioned the photo has explained this himself, having seen b0ll0x posted on facebook

https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...41d8900440.png

look, I know you are a CTr Gary, and no evidence will shake your belief, but as I said up thread - I am just laughing at you lot

who knows Joz, people post b0ll0x they've seen hawked around facebook and conspiracy sites

you post photos from Reuters - the oldest news agency in the world, with direct quotes from the commissioning editor

but its always easy to shout "conspiracy"

look at the link I posted - it is a great TED talk about how the eye can deceive the brain

cuprajake 23 January 2017 09:13 AM

guy doesnt stand a chance.

media have already turned on him.

basically hes not one of them, personally i think he will do good,

dpb 23 January 2017 09:20 AM
