Cool MINT PH1 RENAULT CLIO 172 SPORT

Its time to sell my mint PH1 as ive now bought a JDM Bugeye Type RA Spec C.
Car is located in Essex and viewings are available at the weekends, the car has only been used 3 times in the last 6 months and is not being used until its sold.
Anymore info/pictures then please feel free to PM me and ill do my best to answer.

Price of the car is £5,500 i will listen to sensible offers.

Regards

Scott.

PH1 Renault Clio 172 sport.
Titanium sliver
Alloy bonnet and shift light
51,300 miles
Mot until 8th June 2015 (new owner will get a full years)
2 previous owners
I acquired the car on 23/05/2010
Reg number P1 RUK was (X262 TNO)

I spent quite some time trying to find the best condition PH1 that i could, i bought the car with 39,700 miles almost 5 years ago.
These cars are becoming rare now, let alone in this amazing show winning condition. Most have been broken for parts or stripped and made into track day cars.
The car has never been on track, im a mature owner in my late 30's who has taken great care of the car. I have only ever used the car as a weekend toy and no expense has been spared while its been in my ownership.

In my ownership the car has been more of a hobby, its been driven to many car shows and club meets, the car won best of show at ClioSport 2014 and features in the Cliosport.net 2015 calendar.

Body in very good condition for a 15 year old car, it has never seen any paint so does have a few stone chips and age related marks as to be expected.
The car comes with a Cup spoiler which completes the rear of the car, ive also replaced both head lights and front fog lights with genuine Renault items, the old head lights go yellow over time and the fog lights has stone chips.
Every badge on the car has also been replaced with Renault items, i even managed to buy new "2.0l 16V" side badges which are no longer available along with a complete set of body side mouldings.

Engine bay has been fully detailed with new engine bay information stickers, every nut and bolt and bracket has been plated, inlet manifold and crash bar has been painted in Renault Luna grey with the "Renault Sport" polished.
I had the engine cover painted in Titanium sliver but i haven't fitted this yet but it will be given to the new owner.
The cam cover, sump pan, air conditioning, alternator bracket, upper gearbox mount and thermostat housing have all been powder coated in sliver.
I fitted a new Renault bulk head black trim as the old one was showing signs of age, along with a new bit of foam around the a/c pipes.

Engine spec - Cylinder head was removed and sent away for porting along with the inlets, while it was at ALD i had a set of Supertech one piece valves fitted as the Renault items are renowned for dropping there valves, Andrew also fitted 16 new valve guides along with new valve guide seals.
Catcams 421's where fitted to the head along with a new Renault cam belt kit, dephaser pulley, head bolts and head gasket set.
Megan bottom keyed crank pulley, new bolt and a new engine damper which all came from Renault.
The engine also has a set of ARP rod bolts and new big end bearings were fitted, a black Samco hose kit with stainless steel hose clips has also been fitted to complete the engine bay.
I bought a new air filter housing from Renault as i wasn't happy with the scratches on the old one, an ITG panel filter was fitted into the new air box. The engine and gearbox mounts are the K-tec uprated items, there is also a Powerflex black series bushes fitted to the dog bone mount.

I transported the car to Paul at RS Tuning in Leeds for a rolling road custom map, RS Tuning are a renowned Renault tuning specialist, the car made 192.1 bhp and 160 lbs ft.
I have all of the print outs to prove the results.

Gearbox is perfect with no crunches into any gears or whines, drive shafts, cv joints are all good and the clutch doesn't slip even when out for a spirited drive
Gearbox has been filled with Fuchs Titan sin 75w-80 synthetic oil only 4000 miles ago.

The air conditioning system has had a new A/C radiator, new seals fitted to every pipe.
The system has been vacuumed and re-gassed so the A/C is nice and ice cold ready for the summer.

Suspension - The car sits on Bilstein B14 coilovers and new Renault top mounts which have only covered about 600 miles, the front suspension has been removed, shot blasted and powder coated in satin black, new SKF wheel bearings and new ball joints where fitted along with Powerflex black series wishbone bushes. A new pair of ABS sensors were fitted as the old ones broke when being removed.
It has 20mm H&R front wheel spacers just to give the front of the car a better look as the front wheels look a bit to tucked under the front wings.

The rear beam and hubs were also removed, shot blasted and powder coated in satin black and black series Powerflex bushes where fitted.
The beam was fitted back with new nuts and bolts from Renault along with new hand brake cables i also had to replace the broken ABS sensors, there is 10mm rear hub spacers as well.

Brakes - In very good condition, the front callipers have been stripped, clean and fully rebuilt with a Big red seal kit and new piston's. It has Hel braded brake lines with stainless steel fittings along with super blue fluid.
DS2500 pads are fitted in the front with standard Renault discs and pads in the rear.

Exhaust system - Is a 182 4-2-1 exhaust manifold which has been heat wrapped in Dei titanium exhaust wrap, there is also a stainless steel de-cat link pipe with a K-Tec racing super sport cat back stainless steel system.
New exhaust mounts with the rear mount being the better Prima racing mount, there is also a new Bosh lambda sensor.
All of the exhaust heat shields where removed and powder coated in sliver, the rear alloy one was replaced along with new fixings from Renault.

The set of five wheels have just been fully refurbished by JP Polishing, i also have a sixth wheel that's been refurbished which will come with the car.
The spare wheel has a original Michelin factory tyre fitted and the four on the car are all Michelin PE2's with plenty of tread left.
While the wheels where off being refurbished i had the wheel bolts plated in factory sliver, stainless steel tyre valves fitted to the wheels as a nice finishing touch.

Audio - Is high quality, Becker Grand Prix head unit, JL Audio XD700/5 CH amp, JL AudioTR525-CXI rear coaxial speakers and MTX T8502 components in the front.
There is high quality speaker cable which i have run into the boot should the new owner want to run a small sub-woofer.

The interior is mint with no rips or worn seats, it has never been smoked in and the cigarette lighter has never been used.
I had the steering re trimmed by a guy who trims the steering wheels for Bentley, the quality is second to none. I sent him the material from an old PH1 rear seat which fits in with the rest of the PH1 trim perfectly.

Lovely car, good luck with the sale.

Will you be going through your Impreza the same way? Make sure you get it in the projects forum if so. Mind you, you may not want to as you'll never want to drive it and they're a joy in the wet too.

Thank you James, im not to sure at the moment mate.
I want it nice but not as nice as the Clio as i found that i wouldn't enjoy the car as much as i should, however i just can't help myself its an illness i seem to have making things mint.

I have added a few pictures of the Spec C to the members car thread but i will start a project thread once i have the car.

It even has all the airbox clips! It makes mine look like a dog (although it's quite nice for 220,000 miles!). I couldn't find it for sale on Cliosport though. Good luck, it deserves a good home.

I wouldn't waste my time trying to sell it on CS, there is a project thread though.

Thanks, I will have a read of the CS project thread. I think this version was the best of the RS Clios before the 197/200 versions (I would say that 'cos I own one though!). It looks special, whereas the others just weren't distinctive enough from the std Clio models. The Trophy was nice, but the suspension is a ridiculous price to maintain and the lightweight 172 Cup just wasn't distinctive looking (and it only saves 15 kg in weight over this model). The 197/200 RS's look nice, but aren't any faster due to their extra weight. So all in all this is the best (non V6) RS Clio and from the time when Renault were tops of the hot hatch game.
