I got rid of my Clio 200 after being given a very hard time by a Mondeo 2.2 TDCi on the M6.
The fact is these days those big diesels (especially the German saloons) can be a menace to many high performance cars in a straight line due to the immense torque they produce.
It would be the same with a Newage wagon if you ask me, unless you throw a lot of dorrah at it.

OK so now your going to troll every post of mine and mention it on every thread you post on.
You really need to get out more and spend some time with intelligent adults who's world doesn't revolve around Subarus, but judging by the company you keep and your inability to comprehend the most basic of concepts regarding power to weight, gear ratio's, turbo and engine characteristics , I suspect that's going to be tricky.

I'm not saying a blob wagon with PPP isn't an able car, but that statement is a bit, well, wrong. I could name 50 cars that would get there a lot quicker than a blob wagon.

I could find 99 highly modified subaru's on this here forum with little ease. That's before I'd move onto the next forum, lets say, GT-R owners, then, after I'd exhausted all the owners clubs and found 1000's of cars that would beat a blob Wrx with PPP to 140, I'd start on all the bog standard production cars such as ferarris, lambos, nobles, mclarens, bugattis etc etc etc etc.
This has gotta be a wind-up, and I'm getting reeled right in lol!!

In one thread he told how he had a play with a Ferrari whilst out in his wife's 1.4 Rover, at one point he was pulling away...
Crack has a lot to answer for...

I still maintain in a 'real world scenario" all of the above will be going nowhere.
The amount of money it takes to turn a 13 second standard quarter mile car into 10 second car is about £30k but to make use of that on the road is nigh on impossible and on a busy motorway you've got no chance, they may be in front but they won't be going anywhere.

=jayallen;11170269]He is not winding you up, he actually believes the WRX with PPP is a better/faster car than the STI, he has been bleating on about it for the last few weeks.......Do a search, sit back and take in what Scoobynet's David Icke has to say.

Ditchmaster is correct, there are not a lot of cars on the road that will embarrass a WRX PPP, and just how often are you likely to come across an STI or a Nissan GTR? Hardly ever as they are quite rare on the roads, in fact I can't remember the last time I saw either around the area where I live.
I've owned my Blob Wagon for 8 years and it always surprises me, never mind others on the road.
Loads of fun to be had, its a top sleeper!

Exactly and how much do all of those cars cost OP has £3k to play with.

There's also a fair few nice classic sti's around at the mo that would show their heels to a Wrx wagon with PPP that fit inside the OP's budget.

You were giving (and it wouldn't be the first time) the impression that nothing would beat a wrx wagon with ppp to 140. Nothing was said about budget.

Not much cars can match a WRX PPP???
I borrowed my dads WRX PPP Wagon a couple of months ago, and the first car I come against was a black Focus ST on my favourite road, lets juts say the focus pulled away easy enough!!! I wouldnt say the Focus ST is exactly the fastest hot hatch out there either!!!

In fact take it to a specialist (not Subaru) for a full check over.

Back in the day(late 90's early 2000's) Subaru Impreza's where king of the road for the ordinary working man, A cheap fast car that could give a Ferrari or Porsche a run for its money(F355 etc) even the basic Turbo 2000 PPP was a fast all round sports car!!!
But now we have cars like Vauxhall with the VXR range, Ford with the ST range, and Renault with the Sport range that would be faster and much better car then the Subaru WRX. Feels like Subaru went backwards and all the other manufacturers got better!!
Not knocking the WRX as it has its advantages over the other marques, like 4wd for one, and there's plenty of room in the Impreza range, along with a very big boot, and they are quite reliable if looked after comapred to say a Renault, and the Subaru engine does take to tuning very well, but also handles it better due to the 4wd.
And im comparing the other marques with a standard WRX PPP(standard v standard).

Sorry mate but 30bhp is not enough to embarrass any car let alone a Focus ST(those 2.5 4 pot engines can make good power). I love Subaru's as much as anyone(I drive one and owned 8 of them) But im under no illusion that there the fastest car in the world like some owners might think!!!

So 255bhp WRX PPP should walk all over a 225bhp Focus ST(thats if it was standard and not been mapped, I could not tell)???

And it will do it with a lawn mower and a big **** off snap-on tool box in the back
