CrisPDuk's midlife crisis
Called into my local Toyota dealership a couple of months ago, just for a look around, like you do, and ended up talking myself into this;
I have to say, I'm very pleased with it so far

Perhaps the best thing Subaru did was to let the Toyota boys look after the styling?

I've read that these are slow and not all that brilliant? Aren't they meant to be making a turbo version? Now that would be good.

Is there decent boot space / can you fold seats down?

Maybe you should try one, and not believe everything you read
It's got the same power/weight ratio (the same power and weight actually) as my old '93 Legacy Turbo, and that didn't hang about

The boot is plenty big enough to fit luggage for two for a week. With the rear seats folded down, I've even managed to get my mountain bike in
Rear passenger room is a different matter, even Oscar Pistorius would find the leg room restrictive . They should really have gone the 350Z route and not bothered with rear seats at all.

Very nice
I did contemplate the orange myself, but MrsD expressed her disapproval

I think you need to put down a marker as to what slow or fast is.
I wouldn't say its slow per se.
But it feels slow compared to my 330S.
It is a nice car though, really nice.

You're joking, by the time they got round to delivering it, I'd have been too old to get in

Good decision to go with the Toyota rather than Subaru, especially given the reputation of the later in recent years.

Agreed. I quite fancy one myself, but I know which company I'd expect to have the greater chance of still being around to provide spares in 5 years' time...

+1 the usual I read it somewhere so it must be true.....
I drove one for a few laps at Bedford autodrome, its not the fastest car in the world but the handling and fun factor are top class, im pretty sure when my Subaru goes this will be my next car.
love them

I've seen a few about, both marques, and I think they look great. It surely can't be long before one of the manufacturers ups the tempo with a turbo version? Definitely a purchase option then.

To be honest, unless they could make the boost properly responsive and linear, I think a turbo would detract from the effect
However, if they decide to develop the Legacy H6 engine and stick that in there, I'll be first in the queue

I have reservations about the wheels myself, they're a git to clean. They may get replaced in the course of time

Mrs S spent out on the old super guard stuff... Not too sure if its a gimmick my self.... However the cleaning kit came with a wheel cleaner in an aerosol, spray on jet wash off simples..... Come up like new ever time.
