Question Guaranteed minimum future value deals - any pitfalls?

Looking at Fiesta ST deal with the gmfv at the end of two years. Guess you set that off against a new car or pay it and keep the car. Any hidden pitfalls with financing a car this way?

No if your going to stick 100k on it and drive it like you stole it everywhere.

Otherwise that would depend on the cost of ownership over the 2yrs.

It's a tough one; a high guaranteed future value is hateful if you decide you want to buy it outright, a low value is hateful if you don't.

Did the maths on an M135i and it didn't make sense. So waiting a bit to buy a lightly used one outright.

Depends how much you want the car if you ask me. If you want it a lot, just go for it if you can afford the repayments.

Remember it is set to protect you and the manufacturer, sometimes it swings towards consumer, sometimes the other way.

Usually if you keep within the agreed limits you do pretty well and have a deposit to play with if you want to change the car. As the new Fiesta ST stands to be very popular I reckon it'll be worth more at the end of the term than predicted. It's battering the other hot superminis in the tests.

Do remember if you want to keep it you can always finance the balloon at the end most companies will contact you before the policy expires.
