Carefully I would say, I will hazard a guess that it has road biased tires - holding the gears manually as much as possible. Looking far ahead as possibly etc etc, normal snow driving really and be aware of its weight and that 4 wheel drive wont make it invincible.

Probably one of the few on here that actually like these 4x4, its a fantastic 4x4 to drive (much better than a RR to drive IMO), and does work off road, the 2 things that put me off is that it wont fit in my garage ans secondly as would tend to drive it quickly, the electronics however good cant alter the laws of physics and an accident would be a big one.

Winter tyres.
I would prefer a 2 wheel drive car with winter tyres on than a 4x4 with summer tyres.

I'd rather drive a 4x4 with Winter tyres...

The inlaws have an X5 Sport on comedy 19" alloys and 18ft wide rubber. It actually did quite well in the last snowfall we had.

All Weather tyres are worth a look - bit more forgiving on "normal" roads.

Tell your girlfriend to straddle it and take control, the ladies always step up to the mark when issued a challenge

Really ? Each to their own ... it drives more like a car than the RR I suppose......

My wife has a Range Rover - the winter tyres went on at the beginning of December just in time for the cold weather. They make a noticable difference once it gets cold - you don't need snow or ice - they start working better than the summer tyres at 7 celcius.

Tell her not to drive it through any floods, every year a road near where I live floods and every year some **** in an X5/Q7/Cayenne thinks their school run shopper is an all terrain vehicle and gets stuck. Sometimes the stupid ****ers manage to block the whole road. My favourites this year were a Vauxhall taxi that tried to drive through 2 ft of water and required the fire-brigade to rescue him and a 62 plate x ****ing 3 that tried to drive through a flood that came up to my dicos head lights. They naturally got stuck and from the look of things nearly got swept down the river. That flood has gone now and his piece of crap car is still abandoned in the middle of the road.
