they are quick cars mate but people underestimate them, i didnt think this would be as quick as my 284bhp scoob but this would destroy it, its an animal just pulls and pulls and its so smooth you dont even realize how fast it is. people say because they are heavy there no good but its a load of bull, mine is planted to the floor and just pulls like a train through every gear as you can probably tell im in love lol

Nice
Always came of worst in road tests against Sierra Cosworths and Integrales, due to their supposed excess weight, it always appeared to me that road testers of the time didn't 'get' them.
But from what I remember of the one I drove (a Carlos Sainz), it had a supremely well sorted chassis and covered ground astonishingly quickly*

Loverly example and nice sublte kit.
I've had a few GT4's including early Carlos Sainz and later ST205. All very nice, but most notable difference was the build quality. They are really well screwed together cars and doors close with a thud. Great compromise between jap and german.
But downside of all the build quality was the weight. They are heavy.Still handle and break, but they are heavy compared to a scoob, and in stock form non of the varients I had felt very quick. Quick enough, but really nothing special.
But a dawes on the carloz Sainz helped no end, and the ST205 was helped with a Apexi, Stage 2 turbo, forged engine, and running close to 400bhp. Was then a pretty nippy, but ended up cracking a block which was an end to my Celica days.
Great cars, and always turns my head when I see one on the road. Scoobs are just everywhere now, but rarely get to a see a GT4...
Enjoy, great cars.

Same engine as the MR2 Turbo is it not?
I had one of the those and it was on par with any classic scoob sti that I had.
Great engine, but it certainly won't destroy a scoob fella. May be in your head!

nice looking 4 mate i do miss my old one, mine was runing just over 300 and did have the edge on my scoob but not by very much.
but as said above i personly think they are a nicer place to be sat and better built than the scoob was.
glad your happy with it.

That looks really sweet, i love em, wish i would have got one years ago, look better than a type r and i bet with that power it's not too shabby either.
How much did you pay, pm if you don't want to say, i'm after something else to put the mrs in, whats it like on fuel and what are the common faults to look out for, and do they need mapping.
I could be in for a month of sundays if i buy her one of those

fuel well better than a scoob lol lol was getting around 28 ish bit more on a run but less if "playing".
fig 8's on the front suspension are a common part and expencive but not alot else apart from rot in bottom of doors.
map will allways help but with decat, full system inc downpipe and ebc set at 1.1 bar mine was runing just over 300 (255 standerd).
i did have high/low boost setting so i just used the 1.1 bar for playing i ran it like that for over 2yrs and tbh it never ever let me down or missed a beat.
one of the few cars i have owned that apart from serviceing never cost me a penny in breakdowns.
just to add they are deceptively fast as the twin entry system on the turbo means is a smooth power delivery so they don't feel fast when coming on boost untill you look at the speedo.
look about hard enough and you can find the proper wrc version got anti lag and a few other extras fitted as standerd ok its disconected but its all there a few wires and away you go.

very nice mate, i had one a year ago mine was running around 290bhp, it was faster but i feel my classic wagon handles a lot better than the gt4 did never felt confident in it, also its costly when the suspension goes wrong
