Default My new car

Well, after 4 and a half years, the Impreza has gone, sold it this morning to another SN member, it's being picked up on Saturday. Very sad to see it go and if I'm honest, if I had a place to store it it wouldn't have been sold at all but at the moment needs must, I can't let sentimentality get in the way, I'd spent a hell of a lot of money on it and it to keep it going and it was only getting worse so it had to go.

Anyway, here's the Impreza's replacement:

Took it for a test drive a few weeks back and it's just awesome to drive, can't wait to pick it up next week

Nissan 350Z 3.5 V6 GT
Has everything except for Sat Nav which I wasn't fussed about anyway.

The early cars are 276bhp, I think the engine upgrades were done in 2006 but not sure.

You can get approx 290bhp out of the earlier ones with an air intake; hi flow cat exhaust & plenum spacer, running 99 ron fuel.

TBH I don't really want to start messing with this car, got other things to spend my money on these days, I still love cars and this one will be treated with as much TLC as all my cars have over the years but my priorities have changed

Looks great
I drove one on a Nissan corporate event. Got to do some laps of Bedford Autodrome in it and I loved it.

Well the flatbed has been to take the car away, very sad to see it go in the end, as typical the bloody thing sorted itself out and came out of 'Safe Mode' and ran perfectly. The temptation to take it out for one last drive before it had to go was removed when the truck pulled up while I was loading all the extras onto it. I have really enjoyed every second of owning that car and I am still very much an avid Subaru fan, but now it is time to move on.

Roll on next Wednesday when I pick up the 350Z, providing the weather is nice it'll be getting the Dodo treatment, I bought a load of Dodo stuff over the winter to try, now I have a car with bodywork worthy enough for it lol

Nice car Rich.

Nearly bought a 350Z years ago, but went for the Mk1 Focus RS at the time.
I have a 370Z now.

Hope you enjoy it mate.

I wasn't sure on the 370Z when I first saw it but I pass a white one everyday in the area I work in and the more I see it, the more I like it. What's it like to drive?

Had a bit of a play tonight on Photoshop since I'd seen a few people had customised their TomToms so I thought I'd have a go, surprised at how easy it was to do tbh.

My new start up screen

And new car symbol in the shape of a 350Z

Would love to get a set of TE37s but can't believe the price of them even now, they've been out 5 years! lol

The Connaught van, well, Revell as it's now known, is my mates, he lives round the corner from me.

So what wheels are yours then mate, they look very similar to TE37s?

My Skyline had TE37s on when I got it and I didn't realise just how much they cost. The guy who just bought his has just bought his Skyline and actually paid £2600 for them. He's just doing a big build and has just had a 1200hp block, drive and prop shafts delivered. It's going to be a beast.

Glad your mate still has a job We got stung for about £6k when Connaught went bust, their CEO and FD should do time, they were a ftse100 company.

Lovely. I don't know if it was due to expectation vs reality, but I remember a drive of the 350Z fondly from about 5 years ago and preferred it in many ways to the E46 M3 I had at the time. In comparison, a recent 370Z courtesy car just didn't do it for me, it had an obstructive gear change, the throttle blip mode didn't feel anything special and it all seemed rather gutless but a bit slippery in the wet.

Well I picked the car up yesterday and given it a bit of a clean today, the weather being just crap hasn't helped as it meant I couldn't give it a proper detail just yet. I love how this car drives! The growl of the V6 is great, I keep wanting to give it a foot full but restraining lol all in all I'm loving this car
