Question what would you go for?

every now and then i fancy selling the scoob and getting a different car.

I find my self looking through piston heads/ebay etc for something that i like.

some cars that catch my eye are the skyline r32 grt and audi rs4. i v like the old retro jap cars, skylines, chasers witht he rb26 lumps in etc.

some things that i would need in a car are..

has to have room for baby seat etc
year 2000 or older
good performance

i think if i sell my scoob i would get between 7.5k/8k or would swap for the right car.

so what do the people of scoobynet recomend

the grass is always greener.............

you won't be the only person to do it, but soon after swapping you'd probably miss the scoob

I'd say RS4. The 2.7 Bi-Turbo engine pushes out 380bhp from standard. Enough to waste most cars anyway. Some fairly easy tuning can have these things giving out much more power.

Plus, no one will think you're a Chav like they probably will in an Evo / Scooby.

Keep the scoob and buy a cheap hack for family duties. You will never find better than that which you already have in your garage IMHO.

2nd that - For 7.5K you won't do better than what you have. Pound for pound a scoob just can't be beat IMO, and that goes for the complete spectrum of scoobs, whether it be a standard classic, Blob, Hawk or even a highlighy modded scoob. Each of these scoob when your try and compare like for like, especially from a value for money perspective always end up the trump card.

I looked at that S4 you linked and very nearly bought it, but wasn't prepared to get into a bidding war. Fella from Scotland bought it in the end. Modded S4 bi-turbo is a proper quick comfortable and nice car, but nothing to look at.

Golf R32 4 door is about the only thing I can think that might fit your criterea, but you might need to up your budget very slightly. Either that or BMW 330 M sport saloon, but my preference being with the R32.

Did the Audi thing after my Scoob.

Then went to a Golf mk5 gti.

Do I miss the Scoob? Like a bout of dysentery. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED my Scoobs (and was a major obsessive at the time), but the blinkers came off and I saw what else was out there.

The Audi was great, but boring - great in a straight line, but a powerful armchair.

The Golf is a lot more involving.

I can't see myself back in anything Jap for a while tbh - I still lurk around here coz it's a great site, and I made a lot of mates - most don't have Scoobs either....

So, my 2p is go German - something powerful. Jap stuff is soooooo 90s/noughties.......
