volvo v70 estate
Hi all what are your opinions on the 2008 volvo v70 estate i will need to change car in the next 12 months as we will start to hopfully plan for a family around next december and would like a motor that is safe for all and can get the dogs in the back with no hassle.
The one ive seen is a 2.0 desiel with what i can see is like the audi s-line pack better alloys trim and half leather interior. They seem a very solid well built car with decent comfort, consumption and tax.
Any thoughts guys?

I have been a Volvo fan for a good few years so have driven most recent models
imho the 2litre 134bhp diesel was underpowered in the V50 (2litre sport Diesel with) I drove last year, so it would be worse in the heavier V70 (I have NOT driven the 2litr 134bhp diesel V70 but have driven the V70 D5/T5 , V70R and the latest version of the V70 T6
if you must have diesel i'd go for the D5, seriously it is a superb engine.

to be honest when i come to change i will not be too concerned by power granted i dont want motorways to be a struggle so a 2.5 may be a consideration i was really surprised by the overall quality and to be fair the styling has come along way.The R design model that i saw was very nice in gun metal grey.
But i supose a 03 wrx doesnt have too much luxury.

I've been looking into V70 T5s lately. Half of me says I need a mega frugal, cheap to run car. The other half of me says to hell with what it costs to run, just enjoy it while you can. As a consequence of my dithering, I started looking at the D5 instead. Sadly though, many owners say that fuel economy is very disappointing. My boss had the 2.0D and had suffered terrible EGR issues from the day it left the factory.
