Cool Which 4 seater convertible for £4k

Hi All,

I've decided to sack off the diesel commuter wagon (give it to the missus), sell her Golf Mk4 and get a 4 seater convertible for a bit of a laugh. Gotta be 4 seats as were expecting next year and I'd like it to be a little bit practicle.

The plan is to sort it all out after Christmas when no one wants a soft top( so cheaper) but which one?

BMW E36 323/325/328i
Volvo C70 Conv
Saab 9-3 Conv
Audi Conv

All aged between 1997 and 2002 with under 100k on the clock.

Anybody got experience of any of these and which one (s) are to be avoided.

My thought is a Beemer 323i with full climate and dark leather as it'll be a better drive and the motor sounds lovely, but the Saab and Volvo can be bought newer for the same cash and are more modern...

Cheers
DR

Would go for the BM everday of the week against the others on the list. Better to drive and better built!

This is a great site to check DR to see what past owners say about there cars. Some of the reviews are better than others and there are lot's of common faults exposed;
Carsurvey.org - Car Reviews
Also found this site (but I haven't used this one before);

I used to have a Saab 9-3 cab as a company car and all I remember is driving it felt much that same as sailing.
It was a basic one so I am not sure if it was the cheapest set up but it was bouncy and sponge like.
As a cruiser it was a good car, Looked nice and the seat could get 4 adults in.
For the money I think I would go for the BMW now days. A clean beemer will keep going for well over 250k.
