"Terrafugia is spinning the vehicle as a convenient option for pilots who want to be able to fly to any airport—say, Martha’s Vineyard—and then be able to drive to their final destination without having to rent a car separately."

I always thought Hire Car rates in the US were fairly low, but if it makes sense to spend $200k on a cartoon plane with the fuselage and top speed of a car, then who am I to deter anyone? Don't fancy parallel parking it much though!

Yes, that's right they just bought up all the rusty old Fuegos they could find, glued on some balsa-wood wings and rivetted a lawn mower engine attached to a propellor on the back. How else can you explain the dearth of Renault's finest on our roads today? Not sure I would want to fly too high in it!
