Does anyone own the Leon Cupra? Its meant to be a decent bit of kit, isnt it? Just wondered what people thought of the 'R' version - here is the link to VW Vortex, who have a piece on it http://www.vwvortex.com/ . Its the top story at the moment. Certainly looks pretty good - right, Im off to read what it actually says about it now

My cousin has a Leon 20VT (180 bhp).
Its a great car, obviously not in Impreza territory but it was only £15k brand new.
Its nice inside, looks sleek and cool from the outside and has
enough go to see off most motors. 6-speed gearbox too which is also smart.
210 bhp Cupra R must be a flying machine however i am a bit sceptical that the fwd design can handle that much power.
At £19k it is definatly in WRX price range and i don't really think
its worth the premium over the 20VT.
PS I don't know for sure but presume that you could chip the 20VT
to over 200 bhp anyway.
Kos.

They're talking of the new 150bhp tdi into IBIZA soon if you want more money in your pocket.. SUPPOSIDLY FASTER THAN GOLF 150BHP TDI TOO... The new one is only coming out with 1.2 and 1.4 and 130bhp tdi to start with - and looks a lot better than leon IMHO.

R version not worth the extra money.
They did the same with the Ibiza. The "R" version came out at 19+ k and it just wasn't worth it over the cupra version......

I've test driven one, and I decided to buy one so started having a look here http://www.forums-seatcupra.net/ however I then on a off chance passed a Honda dealer. My Type-R is now on order

Cheers for your replies guys.
I reckon, apart from the back maybe, the Leon is pretty decent looking.
However, I didnt realise the price! I too would rather save a bit of cash and get the civic, or go the other way and get a Scoob.
