Default Damaged escort cosworth???

What do you guys think of this?? Item number: 120326199597 Sorry, can't post a link up! Depending on what he wants for it, looks like an easy fix to me, but I'm no expert! Looks in pretty good nic to be honest, no wear on seats etc...

Admittedly it doesnt look much, guess it depends if it needs to go on the jig etc... Subframe bent? Wouldnt like to say too much from looking at pictures.

Dunno mate, computer says no just keeps freezing everytime I try to sort it! What sort of cost do you think your looking at if it needs to be jigged?? If it's just panelss etc, I would think a couple of grand would put it right??

Its slightly heavier on the passenger side so could have knocked the wheel.

Considering the ignition barrel is knackered maybe the 3 alarms still didn't stop it getting stolen. If that the case the engine and box could well have taken a royal hammering.

If its just cosmetic it does look an easy fix for someone in the know.

I hate to state the obvious but unless you know what the reserve is, how can you tell if it's even worth it? Yeah, it looks an easy fix but if he's after £12.5K for it, it's suddenly not so worth it!

Also don't forget although you say "looks like an easy fix, probably only a couple of grand" Remember it is a cosworth, have you seen any in the breakers lately?

I would hazard a guess that any panels, parts etc are very expensive and very hard to get hold of, it may be worth doing some research on what a front end would cost (inc spraying etc) it may be the reason the guys selling it as he cant get hold of or afford the parts to put it right

If it was a fairly cheap and easy repair it wouldn`t of been written off.

Not sure if this is the same car but the number plate looks close. A local lad from my hometown might of had that. If it is, it had a very hard life thrashed from its inch of its life.
The drivers door and front wing colours didnt match, also had problems with the front driveshafts.

if your a novice at this kind of thing then its a bit of a big step to start with!!!
i fix quite a lot of late damaged cars, what i see and what you would see is totally different,
the first thing i would say(havent looked at the item) if its so easy to repair why hasn't the owner done so, if he is a dealer then its a different matter, but still if its easy (and cheap) then they would have done the repair
ideas of how its appeared for sale
1, owner crashed it , took to garage and got ballistic repair quote
2, dealer has bought it and is making a quick buck
3, dealer has bought it, realised it can't be repaired quite so cheap so try's to sell for some profit
4, car looks like an easy repair but owner has had it assessed and knows its worse than it looks
5, your no expert but you know someone who has one in pieces in a lockup(no questions to were it came from) and no matter what the damage £500 will fix it!!, then buy it
i havent looked at the add and dare i say , no need to, the above covers all the angles needed i think
thankyou

That is being sold by a well known breakers in southwest Scotland. They always have some damaged repairable cars for sale, although I always thought their prices were a bit high. I've dealt with their Stranraer branch before and they've always been OK with me, that's when it comes to buying parts though, not cars.

Surely if you were buying a damaged repairable car then somewhere like this is the best place to go?
