Lets hope its not put anymore weight on - sadly most cars it seems to be the norm now.

I know the golf plan always is not to change this too much.

But agreed,looks like a Mkv to me

(mind you, lost interest in golfs after the mk IV)

Unless it made of super light alloys and composites, I really don't see the point of this claimed "redesign".


Now there's an idea....a LIGHTweight small/medium sized hatchback.

It looks a little more like the scirocco at the front I think.

When it's due out? I've got to order my new company car in December for an March '09 delivery and wondered if it's out by then?

I've just rung VW UK and they've informed me that no details have yet been 'officially' released but will be later in the year - they mentioned November with the car going on sale from January.

They're not taking pre-orders.

The point is to save VW money as the MKV costs them too much to build-at least that's the tale I've heard told and retold.
