Hi... I am running a MK3 GTI 16v and the accelator bedal/mechanism seems to be knackered......

The pedal is sitting lower and will not pressed down.. will only go down a very short way and only then with a lot of force....

The pedal is sitting lower and is when i turn ont he ignition that car just revs its nuts off so I have to switch it off at the ignition

any idead what this could be?
