Mitsubish Evo clutch help please........
Hi Guys,
I know I would get a better response from MLR but dont want to get caught trawling through there pages.
A friend of mine has an Evo 8 MR 340. He is going through clutches every 3K miles or so.
He wants to either pay the money for an uprated one or get a cheaper one so it isn't a £1400 bill every 8 weeks
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Is it tuned ? my mate at work has a Tommi Makkinen edition, he just replace the Clutch, 800 I think and that had done 70 odd, he drives it hard as well.
Something wrong with 3k on a clutch, full bore starts are very hard on the clutch on a 4wd car, no wheelspin to speak of to act as a safety valve, the clutch takes all the hammer.
How does he afford that every 8 weeks !

He doesnt do many full on starts or anything although he doesn't drive it like Miss Daisy.
I have heard about running in procedure on clutches after doing some investigating but still I think it should last longer than 3K.
Ah well. Thanks for all the help guys I (and he) appreciate it.
