Selling EVO IX, what next...
Thinking of selling my White EVO 9 GSR in respect to the fact i have ordered a GTR. I want to dilute my exposure to explosive acceleration and 4 wheel drive grip, so when i board my new purchase it will blow my socks off. The car should be able to fetch 18k as it's in immaculate condition and low mileage example. Maybe then spend 10k of that on a car that is fun to drive but not as complete and possibly similar to the GTR in it's drive.
Potentially considering a old M3 or M5, maybe a Silvia of some sort. What recommendations can you guys come up with?
PM if there's any interest in the car off the back of this thread, there are pics in my "View my Scooby" link. Will maybe stick a FS post up later
Cheers

not after a hatch of any sort really. I still want something with some poke maybe 250bhp arena and that does drive well, just not of the same dynamics a 4wd with all the tech gadgets displays.

The DC5 is an awesome drivers car.
I have owned a few Hondas: Civic VTI, Integra DC2, Integra DC5, S2k.....
Points to look for:
Make sure you view the car when it is cold. ie it hasn't been driven for a while.
1: Gearbox crunches into gear on fast gear changes at high rpm if the gearbox oil has not been changed regularly.
2: Check rear tyres for uneven tyre wear as this could be due to incorrect camber settings
3: The rear callipers tend to sieze on older cars, mke sure the pads are worn evenly and not at an angle.
That is all that comes to mind at the moment. The Integra DC5 responds well to breating mods and has a fine steering, gearchange, chassis. Beaware there are alot of bad examples for sale!
I have a friend who is selling his DC5, it is a very nice cared for example that has some very nice mods. Honda : DC5 (MILANO RED)

07 Mondeo Estate ST tdci 2.2 in Black! Had it blue finned £450 to 183bhp and 419nm.
Stealth, all round mile muncher, Looks very 'undercover' 38mpg when thrashed 44mpg on long hauls. Interior is a nice place to be with excellent Sony system.
It corners with the same speed as my Scoob and 350Z, but without the exit speed. Brakes better than the Scoob, not as good as the 350Z.
I'm not taking the piiss either. I paid 12k for a 1 owner car 9 months old with, 9000 miles on the clock. List price new 23k?!!!
I plan to keep it once the GTR arrives, it really is that good!

Does the Mondeo make you wonder if buying the GTR was the right thing to do? The GTR will probably cost you something like £10k per year all in and that would buy you a lot of time on the track. You could even get into motorsport for that sort of money. I know money isn't the issue but I find it amazing how much fun you can get out of a modest car and messing around on a track has none of the hassle that you get on the roads.

hi,noticed your post on the dc5 forum-very nice clean evo youve got!
would definitely go for a try of a dc5,my other halfs just got one with me and i love it,feels special every time you take it out as well as bullet proof, loads of modding scope, torquier than i thought, handlings pin sharp and it never fails to make you grin as it passes 6500,then 8500 rpm!
however looking at your previous and future motors, its not properly quick, sounds and feels a lot faster than it actually is and will definitely make you apreciate the wonders of 4 wd- torque steer varies in degrees but is always there wet or dry as you come on cam- in the wet its definitely a case of feel for the grip and modulate the throttle. unfortunately some t*t drove into the side of ours after 3 weeks so waiting for it o get fixed but surprised at how much im missing it. o and it doesnt drink fuel like a scoob/evo even when going for it!
