I have a strange desire to own one of these, but then came across this one on one of my regular fantasy pistonheads searches.
911 Virgin : 944S2 Coupe
Just shows how easy photos can deceive as it looks a nice clean car

If they were closer to me i would check it out tomorrow.
They are great cars and can be cared for 'relatively' cheaply.
Find a good indi garage to help out.
Im sure it probably needs no more than £1000 to sort, assuming there is no serious body issues. Galvanized steel and proper paint should mean its pretty solid.
They take a chip and exhaust to produce 230-240bhp.
Stripped out you can get the weight down to 1150kgs without too much of a problem. Would make a great track car.

Hello all
I had an early 944 2.5 Lux, was a bit of a pain in the ***. Bought it cheap needing a water pump, proceeded to sheer off 4 of the 10 6mm studs when I removed it. Much fecking about with oxy acetylene gear to get the old studs out and fitting new studs and it was sorted, only for random thngs to start failing(alternator, speedo, other electrics).
Turned out that although the balancer shaft pulley has timing marks that allow it to be easily timed up the pulleys can also be refitted 180 Degrees out by the previous owner causing all sorts of vibration when I time it up to what looks correct. Still, made money on it. And it was excellent on the B roads when it was actually going properly!

a £1700 quid S2 could easily turn in to a £4-5k car within a year.
I'd guess Henry knows his stuff, and I'd be steering well clear.
If you have a bigger budget mine is for sale.

911 Virgin know there stuff. Fair play they are being honest, and if it was a simple cosmetic job and alternator I am sure they would have done it themself and put it up for sale at 4-5K. Sounds like a real project for someone, but personlly would sooner save the agro and pay the extra and buy a minter myself.
Nice cars though - And can't believe how the early porkers are holder the value now, 911SC', 964's, and 911 turbos are top dollar still and closing the gap between the softer newer generation porkers.
