Default BMW 1 series coupe

Do these have a limited slip differential? I was told that these and the 335i dont. However on tonight's 5th gear when it beat the cayman they reckoned the 1 series coupe does.

yeh i thought it strange on fifth gear that they said the 3litre 1 series had 1 when a 335i coupe dont....

It doesn't - its got a clever dynamic traction control system which mimics the effects of a mechanical/hydraulic LSD, but isn't quite as good.

Not sure mate. Possibly.

The problem is that it (DTC) still works in conjunction with the stability control (DSC), so although you get better traction as the power distribution goes to the wheel with more grip (its done by braking the spinning wheel initially) you only get so much slip from both wheels before the DSC cuts in.
